THE HARDEST THING ABOUT FOOTBALL
An opinion/article by Plazma.

The hardest thing about football does not have anything to do with long practices... Or injuries... Or angry coaches...

The hardest thing to do is beat your friends.

Brett Farve said it best before he went out on the field against the 49ers. To one of them (Steve Young, I think...), he said something to the effect of, "I love your wife, I love your kids, but for one hour, I have to go out on the field and kick your butt!"... And I'm sure that hurt on both ends.

Sure, it's nice to win in a game... But it has to sting inside knowing your buddy has to wait a whole year for another chance at the Super Bowl... And driving your friend's team into the ground three times in a row can't help, either...

I'm talking about Brett Favre and Steve Young... They're good friends, and as far as I know, they're both nice people. (Actually, they both have foundations under their names: The Brett Favre Foundation and Forever Young.) It was a beautiful moment after the NFC Championship game when Brett Favre hugged Steve Young... Obviously, one had to win and one had to lose... But as I said before... Winning, in a way... hurts.
