This years March of Dimes skate fund raiser was a huge improvement over last years event which was held at the Chrysler proving grounds in Auburn Hills where only 10 skaters showed up. This year it was held on Belle Isle on the grand prix track and at least 100 skaters made the event. It was a great time hanging with friends and meeting new friends. The organizers were happy enough with the event to promise an even better event next year by closing the whole course to traffic. The fun spilled over into that evening when some of us went to Metro Beach Park to swim, skate, and hear the Sun Messengers perform. Phil, Mary, me, and Kathy enjoy a perfect day on Belle Isle.
