The highlight of this years Detroit skates season was the Post to Post to Post skate sponsored by Stay in Line. I had urged Kerry and Rom to see if they could find a good route to make it out to the Ferndale Post on Woodward from the Post east near Grosse Pointe. When George got wind of this challenge, he and Jim Causly spent a few Sunday skates finding a route from the Post east to the Post Ferndale. The route they found had great pavement the whole way. It was a nearly straight shot out Alter which turns into Outer Drive that dead ends into Conner. Then it was out Conner passing City Airport and onto State Fairground Drive which dumped us onto Woodward near 8 mile road. Then after a short shot up Woodward we were there. The 5 mile skate back down Woodward to Web was easy for most, but a few got caught by some tar snakes along the way. Once at Web it was the old familiar route back downtown on Third. The 50 or so skaters that made this trek had a great time and for some it was their first time doing 35 miles.
