NHL 2K Front End Rookie Player Photo Facepak Add On Number 4
By Tomcat2 and Mizu

Tired of those annoying blue "NHL2K" logos in the game front end where
your favorite new player's photo OUGHT to be? This add-on will add
player faces in the front end for many of those not originally supplied
by NHL2K.
This update will NOT disturb your rosters if they've been customized, and
will work with ALL rosters, IF... you read these instructions carefully
and install the add-on properly. There will be a seperate add-on to fix
the in-game "portraits" when players are highlighted between faceoffs.
Look for other add-ons by the Tomcat2/Mizu team to add front-end and
in-game portraits of your other favorite rookie prospects - coming soon!

Installation Instuctions:

NOTE!!! You must have the latest version of GFXPAK installed in your
NHL2K directory to install this add-on. If you don't have it, you can
download it at http://www.nhl-online.com/nhlinfo

You MUST have a folder called "Photos" in your NHL2K directory. If you
do not, this means you did not do a full or customized install of NHL2K
which included Front End graphics. That means this update will NOT work
for you unless you uninstall NHL2K and then reinstall it using the "Full"
or Custom Install" options and include the Front End Graphics.

WARNING!!! If you choose to uninstall NHL2K and reinstall it, make SURE
you back up the following files if you have put in any add-ons you wish
to save. After your reinstall, you can substitute the old backed up files
for the ones put in place by the reinstall. Back up these files as a
minimum:

gamedata\arena.viv
gamedata\uniforms.viv
ugi\ugi.viv
db\ all files in the db\ folder
user\ all files in the \user folder
and any other files which you put addons into (this list may not be all
inclusive for you!)

Tomcat2 and Mizu are NOT responsible for any data you may lose if you
choose to uninstal and reinstall NHL2K!!!

NOTE NOTE!!! If you are not sure of what you are doing, back up (make
a copy of) the following files: \photos\Bphoto.viv,
\photos\Sphoto.viv and ALL files in your \db folder. That way if
anything doesn't work out to your satisfaction, you can simply restore
the old files. Again, if you don't have the two \photo files, you can't
use this update unless you uninstall/reinstall NHL2K. Do so at your
own risk!

You MUST have a copy of Toni Wilen's latest NHL editor, WNHLINFO.exe
(Version 5.43 was the latest when this update was created) installed
in your NHL2K directory to install this add-on. If you don't have it,
you can download it at http://www.nhl-online.com/nhlinfo

Installation is a snap!
FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY!

This zip file holds the .bat file program and the image files
required to do the update. It should contain the following files:

15 Name_Initial.png files
15 S_Name_Initial files
1 Update_Rookie_faces4.bat file
1 Rookie4_README.txt (this file)
(32 files total)

1) Unzip all of these files into your NHL2K directory

2) Back up \photos\Bphoto.viv and \photos\Sphoto.viv and all files in
your \db folder if desired

3) Make sure you don't have any other .fsh or .png files you
want to save in your NHL2K directory

4) Run the file Update_Rookie_faces4.bat by double-clicking on it.
   Follow the directions carefully.

5) When the update is complete, close the DOS window that
Update_Rookie_faces4.bat was running in

6) Start up WNHLINFO by double clicking on it's icon, which should be
in your NHL2K folder. Click on "Electronic Arts NHL2K" and then on the
Exhibition Rosters (or whichever rosters you want to have these pix in)

then on "Players". Click on "Stats" then on "Misc" Click on "All Teams"
then on "All+Free Agents" Double Click on the first Name in the "Names"
column, and the list will re-sort. Then click on "Sort Down". All
players will now be in alphabetical order, starting with Aanti Aalto.

8) Using the arrow keys on the keyboard, move the purple cursor over
to the column reading "Fac1" It is in this column you will be making
all of the changes.

9) Using the arrow keys or Page Up/Down keys on your keyboard, go to
Steve Begin (if you don't have Begin in your rosters, go to the
next player on the list, Yuri Butsayev). With the cursor in the FAC1
Column, press the "Enter" key on your keyboard, and a box will pop
up for "Frontend Face/PBP". Enter the number: 0993 (4352 for Butsayev)
and Click on "OK" In the same manner, enter the following numbers for
these players in the FAC1 column (Depending on whose roster updates
you use, some of these players may not exist in your roster db -
that's OK - just skip over them):
