This one would pit some of history's
best players against each other, yet
the key hit in the game would come from
a fairly unknown player. He played from
1927-1946 and accumulated 2165 Hits yet
is rarely know.
The pitching would be great as the
game only had 8 hits total. Unfortun-
ately for the AL, 2 of the NL's hits
left the yard. An early pinch-hit
appearance by Dick Bartell would prove
to be enough for the NL as Bartell hit
a shot barely fair down the RF line for
a home run. That shot would earn him
the game MVP. Although their was a lot
of competition from the pitchers for that
honor. Mickey Cochrane would also hit a
HR to CF later in the game (yet another
one that barely cleared the fence).
