AL Immortal ??![]() Carl Yastrzemski |
In the early part of the
season, we were hearing rumors
of a possible Triple Crown winner
from NL Manager Logan Gilson. And
it was rightfully so -- as Ruth
was playing awesome and led the 3
major categories.
Now, unaware to his manager,
Carl Yastrzemski stands a better
chance to be the one with the
crown at the end of the season.
Yastrzemski leads the American
League in Batting Average & RBIs
and is tied for the AL lead in
Home Runs. There is still 2
months left in the season, but
this should be interesting to
watch. Will there be a Triple
Crown at all in the inaugural
season of CASBL ?? Who will it
be ?? For now -- noone knows,
but wouldn't it be ironic to
have 2 Triple Crown winner --
yet neither team make the
playoffs ??

Could the NL have a crown
wearer at the end of the season ?
This will have to wait to be
determined, but as of now -- It's
a just a question to be of if !!
Ruth has a rather large lead in
the Batting average category, but
is 7 behind in HRs and trails his
teammate Hack Wilson in RBIs. It
looked better at the beginning of
the season, but as the season
progresses it becomes more of a
longshot.
Ruth is expected to be in
the top portion of the voting for
the league MVP, but Triple Crown
hopes seem to be fading fast.
