UNC Tar Heels Team Report

The team feels they have a very good chance at becoming the The first team to win 2 Web Bowls. Drafting from there worst position ever at the #19 spot with a 8-8 record they believe they got the youth they had been needing after the first 2 years producing bad picks. The drafted players were happy to join a great team but one player Joe Jurevicius had contract disputs and only got 1/2 as better as the other rookies during spring training. Even though the players drafted did not play positions of direct importance to the team they were out there and the team said we can't miss out on picking them up.

The team captain on defense Kevin Greene had this to say about 2nd year player James Farrior. "All I know is the year I retire this kid will do a great job at filling my shoes I have seen him make many strides in the offseason and has become the #2 LB for the team. Also this year opposing teams beware me and this kid is the best 1 two punch in the league and don't expect many running yards versus us or those short passes."

Right now the team is looking to trade a few players and get some position player now. Which are a young DT with pretty good numbers and a great veteran safety who wants to finish out there career at UNC. Also looking for a young kicker to devolp under Pete Stoyanovich's wing. Besides that the team is ready to start kicking some ass!!! The team had a few offseason trades getting back long time Tar Heels Jamal Anderson who was with the team during there first Web Bowl victory. And trading away a young and devolping player Phil Goodson who became expandable after 2 picks in the college draft at WR. The team also traded away Mike Tomzack who decide to play his 15th season but Mitchell who lead the team to there first championship won the job and Tomzack wanted out and so he got it moving a team that needed him in his last few seasons.

Tomzack after the trade said "I wanted to be traded but along with a crappy HB Mitch Peete for a 3rd round pick!! That is imbrassing, I know I am worth more then that after a 4,200 yard season and a 8-8 record and absolutly no running game!!" Simply we will say he was pissed. But now that he has gotten to his new home he is happy there and does not really care about waht he got traded for, and who knows he says that maybe that 3rd round pick will one day be a pro-bowler.

That is all from Tar Heel camp as they get ready to starting beating up some teams where there strong defense and good offense again this season. Remeber this is the team that won Web Bowl I with a final score of 5-3!! And that includes a safety and a field that was setup with a great defensive effort. Well everyone bad luck this season and hope to kick butt in Web Bowl VI. UNC GM along with Kevin Greene. Free, fast e-mail accessible anytime, anywhere http://www.imaginemail.com
