Maulers Release Logo after Big win over Sealers

Well, after 3 seasons, the Maine Maulers have finally released their team logo. Management decided to move away from the plain style uniforms and come up with a logo. Phenom artist known as andymike gladly accepted the honors of coming up with the logo -- and a GREAT job he did. He asked management for what they'd like to have and caught the image perfectly. Now the Maulers have a design and will start working on having a mascot ready. They have hired former inmate Charles Manson to act as the bear.

"We hired Manson and figure we'll let him debut against the Tar Heels teams, but that's not definite yet. We figure if he injures a few Tar Heels' players it won't be any big loss !!" said management in retaliation for the UNC managers call to bring it on !! Look out UNC don't think you expected this one !!

New Maulers Logo

This was a big game for the Maulers after last week's first ever opening day win. The Maulers had never won any of the first 3 games in any season before this year. Last year they settled for the league's only tie ever in week 3 versus the Sealers (formerly known as Capers). So this week they were out to prove that last week wasn't a fluke and that they had indeed improved as a team since last years tie.

Shows signs of life

Leonard Russell

Leonard Russell, after a dismal first week, finally showed signs of the younger, flashier Russell. "It's been a while since I felt this good about my rushing game. Our offensive line did well, but now I need to start breaking some tackles to get those BIG gains. 65 yds is nice, but I still want to start breaking that 100 yd plateau on a regular basis before management decides to look elsewhere. I still think I have it in me and this week gave my confidence a big shot in the arm !! " said Russell in a post-game interview.

Gus Frerotte again looked spectacular as he completed 74% of his passes (25-34 for 262 yds). The passes were a little shorter this week, but spread amongst a number of receivers with Russell leading the pack. Frerotte threw to 7 different receivers for his 25 completions and looked spectacular again. He threw for 13 first downs and again no interceptions. "He's matured a lot since last season and is really seeing the whole field. He no longer forces the ball in - he instead now goes to his 2nd & 3rd options with the confidence that they'll make the plays for him." manager Charles Wilkins IV said.

There are many talented players on this team and they're starting to gain confidence and learn from each other. It's rumored that since the UNC manager has started the trash talking that the team is really fired up and has a poster of some of the UNC Players up on the exit door. They all pound it on their way out to the field each time they exit the door !!
