        With the White Sox suprising start of 9-3, this once cellar team had
a lot to say to this reporter. GM JayCee Morrow is quoted as saying, " Our
pitching rivals any team in history, with at least 2 more young stars coming
up we are set for a few years." One can understand his point, his pitching
includes: Greg Maddux, Pat Hentgen (among the league leaders in wins),
Wilson Alverez, Shawn Estes, Luis Andujar, and Kevin Tapani. Mr. Morrow said
that," Althopugh one cannot have enough pitchers, we are offering Kevin
Tapani up for trade." This move had come due to the lack of pitching effort
on Tapani's behalf. Tapani is 0-2 with a 4.50 era. "We know he has a lot of
talent but he jus tdoes not have a place here in the Windy City, we have
Shawn Estes ready to take over, Pedro(A. Martinez), Bryan (Eversgerd), and
Archie (Vazquez) coming up from Triple A ball. They are all fantastic closer
and all know with Hernandez and Bertotti don't ahev a chance. for a while.
They want to get moved." News had just come that Tapani, Simas, Brady, and
Darren Lewis  have been moved to the minors bringing up Pedro, Bryan,
Archie, and Danny Tartabull. The ChiSox have mentioned an interest in power
and a solid Center Fielder. Team Captian Robin Ventura said of the upcoiming
series with Minnesota and division rival Cleveland, "With Tapani off the
mound, and Estes taking his place, the Minn. series is a lock. Our pitching
and solid D will get uis through."
