The Houston Astros have finally filled the void in the middle of the infield.
They have been lacking in talent at Shortstop and Secondbase ever since they
traded Craig Biggio to Seattle for Randy Johnson. Well, that
was the old
manager, and this is the new one...well, not exactly new...but its what
they got. Seeing hitting was the worst part of their team, the Houston
Astros started looking at the individual positions they needed to fill in
order to have a successful line-up feared by all other pitching staffs. It
appeared that the middle infielders were struggling the most.
Solution: Eric Young. Ok, well, maybe he won't make the other pitchers
FEAR the line-up, but he will make a dent in their egos. Trading young pitching
prospect Ryan Creek, the Astros received Eric Young.
In case you were wondering, Gabe Alvarez is the other middle infielder playing at Shortstop. Other players who have been tested at that position include young Russ Johnson and Fausto Cruz.
