HOUSTON - The Houston Astros have traded pitching star Shane Reynolds, and
troublemaker Johnny Ruffin to the Oakland A's for the experienced Jamie Navarro.
The once Atlanta Braves star has had a descent year at 8-7 with a 3.82 ERA. He
will be taking up the number two spot in the rotation where struggling
Shane Reynolds was. Shane could never get a strong grapple with the Houston
Astros after he was traded from the Milwaukee Brewers a year and a half ago.
The Oakland A's, who are struggling to keep under the Salary Cap, also received
Johnny Ruffin, who has had some personnal problems in the past. He is looking
for a new home in Oakland though.
The Houston Astros have reported they are still looking for a Catcher and
a Shortstop. If there are any teams who have anyone at these positions
available to trade, please contact the Houston Astros front office.
