HOUSTON - Its finally happened!! Its finally here!!
After the nearly perfect, healthy season, the Houston Astros have finally caught
the Injury Plague. Jamie Navarro, Sean Berry, and Brian L. Hunter will all miss
action over an undetermined amount of time due to various injuries.
Minor leaguers, J.J. Johnson, who spent time in the majors last year while
Hunter was injured, and Chris Seelbach, who also spent time in the majors
last year, and Scott Spiezio were all called up to duty.
With the recent injuries, the Houston Astros have fallen back to 9 games out
and it things are looking bleak as towards a comeback. Their next step is to
reform and attack again next year when they have injured Randy Johnson back to pitch.
youngster Bert Walsh will be the teams number 2 starter now as his 9-6 record
and 3.24 ERA have stood out among the pitchers this year in Houston. With
the calling up of Chris Seelbach the average of of the 5 starting pitchers is 22.
The oldest of them being Bert Walsh at 24.
There rumors that all the injuries have come from players injecting, or
swallowing large amounts of Pennzoil. This is only a rumor, and can not be
proven until submitted under the court of law.
