HOUSTON - Once again the Houston Astros excellent management team have found a rookie of the year. With 4 season played, two rookie of the year players have come from the Houston Astros. The first year the Rookie of the Year award was given out was 1998, when George Jones, now playing for the Chicago White Sox, won. He batted .210 with 6 homers and 20 RBI's to somehow pull off as Rookie of the Year.
This past season, Kevin Millwood, the 4th starter on the Astros, won the rookie of the year. He was 10-8 with a 3.95 ERA and 110 strikeouts proving to be the best Rookie this year. Once again he will be the Astros 4th starter this year as they begin their trek towards the Championship.
On a side note, Ricky Gutierrez, of the Chicago Cubs, won the Rookie of the Year award in 1999.

Meet David Justice, the new Houston Astros Right Fielder! He's lefthanded, plays the outfield, and is batting number 5 in the line-up!
The Houston Astros are very excited about getting David Justice because he is another power hitter added to a line-up of other power hitters. With the excellent starting rotation, along with Bert Walsh a very high prospect, the Houston Astros traded long reliever Kerry Wood and Carlos Beltran, a sub-par prospect, for David Justice. The decision to go with Justice over Henry Rodriguez was that the Astros will be able to safely protect Justice after next year, where as Rodriguez is a free agent after this year. The Houston Astros must protect starter Randy Johnson and second baseman Eric Young.
With the new addition, the Astros are hopefully making the St. Louis Cardinals, along with the rest of the NL Central scared to be in the same division.
