Yankees GM Joe Torre was not quiet by any means about
how pissed he is on how the team is playing. Joe Torre
before the season started said " We have the best and I
mean the best  hitting rotation in the league!! Without a
single doubt I can say. I know Seattle has a better 9 man
attack but if one of them goes down someone very bad will
replace them while we have backup for our talent." Right
now the Yankees are in 3rd place in the toughest divinson
behind the Red Soxs and Orioles; with a record of 14-17 a
total of 9 games back."

   " Right now the Yankees have the best relief staff in
the game and proably one of the top 5 hitting rotations.
The problem is there starters" was quote from Dan Patrick
from Sportscenter in a broadcast aired 2 days ago.

    As for stats the Yankees have Bip Roberts who is
batting .300 with 7 doubles, 5 homeruns, and 7 stolen bases
without being caught. Also Reggie Sanders the 8.85 million
dollar man has been close to producing what he is worth
having 6 doubles a triple, 5 homeruns, 17 RBI's one less
walk then strikeout and has 6 stolen bases and was only
caught once. All that with a .317 batting average.
Basically the core of the hitting staff has been producing
and stealing bases on that. Which is one of the most
helpful things about the power int he lineup.

   As for contact signings Reggie Sanders, Larry Walker,
and Andy Pettitte have been signed for 8 year contacts!!!!
But Mariano Duncan, and Rey Sanchez, and Matt Howard have
been openly placed on the trading block.  But while this
has happened, Duncan has been producing which has made
management more cautious. His numbers of .333 batting
average looks good but it was only out of 12 AB. But in
those 12 Ab's he also had 4 hits, 1 of them being a double
and 2 being dingers and that would mean 1 was a single.
He also created 4 runs in those at bats and scored 3 runs.

   Next weeks article is going to be on the small black
