There are many crags available to the West Virginia Climber. By far, the largest climbing area is the New. Located near here is Summersville Lake and the Meadows. These areas are good for long 1 or 2 pitch sport and trad climbing. The New tends to be top heavy on the spectrum of difficulty climbs. Seneca offers a different type of climbing than the areas listed above. Seneca features multi-pitch mostly trad climbs. There are many classics from grades 5.2-5.5 and other harder routes as well. Finally Coopers rocks offers a good bit of trad and top rope climbing. This also excells for bouldering. Coopers Rocks is my favorite bouldering area, only second to Pioneer Rocks.
