Buff Review by Amethyst
Back to October Buff Review

September 1998

Anyone out there tired of this Buff Bagwell/Scott Steiner thing? It was funny to watch when it first started, but now its getting old. Granted Buff hasn't got the clearance to wrestle yet, but do something with him. He was a front burning story line until the injury, and I'm glad that WCW has brought him back, but he needs a new angle.

First thing, Buff should do is get as far away from the nWo as possible. When he made his appearance on July 20 in Atlanta on Nitro he said he was just Buff and not aligning himself with anyone. He should of kept it that way. Think about it, what has the nWo done for him since he's been a member? NOTHING!!!! Hello..they've paid so much attention to Hogan, Hall, and Nash, that there was no room for Buff to grow into his own. I thought maybe he was going somewhere with Scott Norton. They could of been the next tag team champions, but on April 22, 1998 that ended. Since Buff has been back we haven't even seen the two of them together. He's too busy with Big Poppa Pump to pay attention to anyone else.

Another thing, this Steiner vs. Steiner thing has been going on for so long, and they haven't really stepped into the ring to wrestle. Halloween Havoc is suppose to be the day, but I'll believe that when it happens. I understand that because of Buff's injury there's not much that WCW can do with him, but to take a line from Owen Hart, "Enoughs! Enough! And its time for a change."

Bagwell is use to being a champion, a leader, but he has become the biggest follower and cheerleader for Scott Steiner. This nWo thing is not for Buff. Just look at the nWo as a whole, they're all much older than Buff, except the Giant.  He's been put in a group of old wrestlers who are tugging at the curtain especially Hogan. It's a career disaster waiting to happen to Buff. What he should do is get away from the nWo, and form his own group or at least align himself with someone else. I know what your all thinking, the next words out of my mouth is Scotty Riggs, and you're right. What's wrong with it? Scotty's free, and Buff has said on occasion that his favorite partner was Scotty. Put two and two together and maybe deep down in Buff he would love the chance to team up with Riggs again. Right now Scotty needs some angle in his career to, and with his new found popularity back and Buff has always been a crowd favorite. It could be what both of them need.

All I know is that Buff needs something new because what is going on with him now ran out of gas months ago.

Until next month...
