What is WCW doing to Scotty Riggs lately? For months he did a match
in what seemed like a blue moon, but for the past few weeks he has had
matches on both "Nitro" and "Thunder". It's good to see the "Flying Forearm"
man in the squared circle, displaying his tremendous wrestling ability.
What bothers me is the way WCW is portraying him. He's had matches against
Steve McMichael, "The Cat" Ernest Miller, Norman Smiley, and Saturn. Everyone
with the exception of Saturn, Riggs should have easily won against. Saturn
is one of the top wrestlers, which is why I can accept the loss to him.
That brings me to the other three matches. Scotty Riggs dominated all three
of them, proving that he should get a little more respect from the "suits"
in WCW.
Let's go back to November 23, 1997 at World War III. Raven vs. Riggs in a no D-Q match. Bad idea from the start. Riggs should of known that stepping into that ring with that brain washer was not a very smart thing to do, but he did. Then to make matters worse on the following "Nitro", he joins the Flock. I was never pleased with that decision because since joining his career has been on a downward spiral.
The Flock has finally awaken to what Raven is really all about. He did nothing for them, but further his own career by having them do his dirty work. During their time with Raven, Kidman should have had the cruiserweight title, and Sickboy and Riggs should have went after the tag team championships, but nooooo Raven would never have that. He did nothing but bring the Flock down.
The Flock is free, as they should be. What's next for them? We already know Kidmans next move. He is the new WCW Cruiserweight Champion. Congratulations Kidman!!! The rest of the former Flock members need to look at Kidman, and see what they can do without Raven. They can SOAR to new levels. Scotty Riggs should go after Chris Jericho and the TV belt. Wouldn't you love to see to former tag team partners go at it? What about Marcus "Buff" Bagwell? I have nothing against him because Buff is the stuff, but if and when Bagwell is allowed to wrestle, Riggs has a score to settle with him.
There is so much that WCW could do with Scotty Riggs, if they just try a little harder. WAKE UP WCW!!! There is more to your company than Hollywood Hogan. Instead of focusing so much on the black and white express, take a look at what else you have in the company. I really hate to give a compliment to the WWF, but at least they give all their wrestlers a chance to prove themselves. There are many talented wrestlers in the WCW, but are not given the chance because of that egomaniac Hollywood Hogan, who is too slow and doesn't know any REAL wrestling holds, can't win without interference (Goldberg proved that), and hogs all the air time.
Hogans old and the fans know it. WCW needs to look for a new generation of wrestlers to take WCW into the new millennium because Hogan won't cut it.
