February 17-18, 2001 - Junior State of America Youth Congress at the Double Tree Inn - Lloyd Center in Portland, OR.   Students duke it out in the United States Senate and House of Representatives.  Will the death penalty be abolished?  Will the dams on the Columbia be removed?  Will Hanford be shut down?   Will Social Security be dismantled?   So many pressing questions, so much politics, so many marathon debates, SO MUCH FUN!!!

February 21 - 24, 2001- Youth and Government, Oregon State Capitol, Salem, OR.   Students duke it out in the Oregon State Legislature (that right - the actual capitol building).   A whole weekend of students creating laws.  Will Oregon's Health Plan be revised?  What about CIM and CAM?  Will we abolish the death penalty?  Amend the initiative and referendum system?  OH MY!

March 3, 2001 - Regional Mock Trial, Clackamas County Courthouse, Oregon City, OR.   Its a mock trial!  Pretty self explanatory.  Mock Trial Teams going up against others.  More than your average day at court.

March 16 - 17, 2001 - State Mock Trial, Multnomah County Courthouse, Portland, OR.  Win at regional mock trial, jump down, turn around, try another case.   This is not the People's Court.  This is an even bigger deal, your honor.

April 12 - 14, 2001 - Model United Nations, University of Oregon, Eugene, OR.   High School students from around the state gather as ambassadors to debate resolutions in a mock up of the greatest experiment in world government - the United Nations.  Will the Security Council allow you the time of day?  Probably not.
