Meet Java Chip!

Java Chip came to us weighing only 3 lbs.  This was not good for a cat that was over 3 years of age.  I rushed her to the vet and told the vet to do whatever he needed to get this cat back to eating food!

The vet had Java about two weeks.  She refused to eat food out of a dish, but they soon discovered that she would eat off the floor of her cage if you put food there!

When we brought her home, she was still way underweight, and she wasn't exactly friendly.  She didn't like other cats and really hated dogs!  Not good in a house full of animals.  Java pretty much lived in our bedroom for her first year or so.  She would sleep on the headboard and hissed at any cat that came near her.  She would run when the dogs came in and she still wouldn't eat all that much food!

It has been over a year and 1/2  since we have got Java.  She now eats out of the cat food dishes (always when my husband goes to bed) and she still sleeps on the headboard.  She doesn't really like the other cats too much, but she isn't as bad as she use to be.  She will come out into the hallway and cry and even sometimes be brave enough to venture up to the child gate that we use to block the hall from the dogs!  If you pick her up and bring her out to sit on the sofa, make sure you have a hairbrush with you.  She will sit for hours and let you brush her!

She isn't super scared of the dogs anymore - specially if they come in her room.  She doesn't run from them.  She does not like Dakota, the big red Doberman though!  Can't blame her, he is obsessed with every cat he sees!
