Callie,
you have been gone a week now. I miss you so very much.
You were my precious daughter, my best buddy, taking care of me
while Mommy was away in the Army. We both were so proud of her.
I
fondly remember how you sat purring in my lap as I worked at the
computer. How you cuddled on my chest as we watched Braves games
together. How you loved to sleep with Mommy and me when it
wasn’t
too hot. Thank you for nearly 14 wonderful years together. Thanks
for
sharing your house with us.
You
occupied nearly all of my thoughts and time after you got sick
with
Chronic Renal Failure. Caring for you, giving you fluids and learning
all
that I could about your disease. I never regretted a minute and I
know
that you felt my love and concern. Then the time came that we had
to
let you go. Not because of CRF, but because of surprising
complications
that stole you from us too soon. Thanks for letting me see the bravery
and
trust in your eyes at the end. That will reassure me forever. I know
that you
are at peace and happy waiting for Mommy and me at the Rainbow
Bridge
where we will be reunited forever.
You
will live forever in our hearts Callie,
Daddy
Cy and Mommy Barb
