Roxie, I’ll miss you

I promised to protect you from harm when you were young.

A lifetime of friendship had just begun

The years have gone by with you at my side.

Now I must take you for one last ride.

The time has come for your pain to end.

Now I must say goodbye to you, my lifetime friend.

You cared for me and me for you.

I just pray this is the right thing to do.

I will miss you, my faithful companion.

More than ever when the morning is done.

You pained and ached your last day.

The good Lord will come and take you away.

I am so sorry to see you go.

Just know I did it, because I love you so.

In memory of my German shepherd whom I had to put down due to a large 
tumor in her abdomen and hip dysphasia. Roxie was 13 years old.
