Seventeen years ago, a little buff yellow
kitten was rejected by his mother, because being a good
mother she know that this baby was ill and would not
survive. With the help of a team of vets and a human
father, Sammy was nursed, bottle fed, and lived in an
incubator, where he grew stronger, stopped crawling in
circles, and eventually grew into full kittenhood.
He was then adopted by Kathy, sister of Sammy's human
father, and moved to California. Sammy was a
"special" cat, a little "different", but
he had all the "cat things" down pat, and was a
excellant "mouser". He was a frequent flyer,
crossing the country, coast to coast many times.
Eventually, he moved to Maine, and like all the "old
folk" he spent his winters in Florida.
Although he was being treated for
thyroid, and was a little wobbly, Sammy was doing fine till
this week, when an emergency brought him to the Vet's
office. Cancer was to be his downfall. On that day,
Sammy was released from any suffering.
He will be so missed by his human
companion, Kathy, Goldie the dog, and his human
father. Bob.
