Wally left us for Rainbow Bridge January 2. He was
a beautiful and very big yellow lab. His heart was even bigger.
Wally lived with us for 10 years and 9 months giving us joy, love
and companionship. I was so close to Wally and he seemed to
live for us...and maybe his ball. There was no creature on
this earth that had the zest for life he had. Everyday was
greeted with excitement and enthusiasm. My husband said it was
like the movie "Ground Hog's Day" where the same
wonderful day would start over and over as if it was the first day
for him. He was so gleeful. When we lived in the country
for 10 years he would delight in jumping off a huge rock in the
river time after time. A belly flop really and it was a riot
to watch. He loved to walk in the snow with our other
dogs and run in the hills and meadows. When we moved to a more urban
place by the salt water, his favorite thing to do was to swim and
fetch the ball. He bound in over the waves and swim fast and hard to
get that ball. He also enjoyed many walks in the forest lands, swims
in the lakes and tons of hikes. Wally was noble and loyal. When
we left the house he would stay but the glass door watching us leave
and waiting until our return. He was so sensitive to my
emotions and so often helped me through rough patches. I loved him
so and I miss him terribly. My husband does too. We are so greatful
to have that lovable fellow. He is in my heart forever and
when I die I hope to see him again and give him another hug.
