There is an antibiotic which is quite effective for the whooping cough, but this is rarely used except in severe cases as the antibiotic has been proven to have some side effects and is not 100% safe. There are other antibiotics which are not as effective but does not have as many side effects, if any.
Complications nay occur if the whooping cough happens as a secondary
infection. These other infections may cause serious damage to the person's
health: pnumonia, encephalitis of the lungs, and fits(convoltions). These
together may seriously effect the nervous system.
