Reports ·
Everyone feels that they are safe from any wrong doing when they are right, and cannot be proven to be lying without lying to do so. This is true as long as you don't have any problems come up such as filling out reports. A good example of this is an Incident Report (or a Workers Compensation Report). If you are doing your first job ever, you are the target for many things to be overlooked when they shouldn't be. Such things includes filling out reports because the employer believes that they do not need to tell you such things unless it comes necessary. It is rather sad that a thing like this does happen.
I can say this from personal experience. I am at my first job. I do not know anything about filling out reports or anything like that. So whenever I had a fall of any kind and I felt that I was all right, I did nothing. As I have found out just recently, I am supposed to fill out an Incident report every time I hurt myself on the job. I also have found out that I am to be checked out for every one of those mishaps. I can honestly say that if I were told this back when I started to work, my workplace would have a filing cabinet just for those reports. I have been at this job for over 2 years, and this is the first time that I have been told about this. Also the only way I found out about it is because when I was filling out a Worker's Compensation Report, I was told I haven't done the proper procedures to be able to file the report due to the fact that the incident in question happened 6 months prior.
If the system was setup any worse, I would say that they would have to have no one know what to do any situation until the government was involved at the end of everything. This type of system needs a complete overhaul due to the fact that it is currently setup that if you haven't gone through the situation before, you are screwed. Something doesn't seem right about this. If I report something to someone about an injury and nothing is done because I didn't know about any reports to file, and if the stuff is not filed you get screwed in the end; I think something needs to be changed with the system. This really sucks for people that don't know anything about the workings of the system. Something needs to be changed about this.
This is all I can say about this subject without saying improper language, however it doesn't mean that this subject is over. Watch in the papers and there might be something like this comes up in one of them. You never know what will happen when a person is pushed enough.
