In history, hunting was always seen as a way to live. It was a way for the natives to get food. Hunting is also known as a form of murder, especially if the hunting is due to one person hunting the other person. This is considered to be a crime because the act of hunting causes a senseless act to happen. This form of hunting is also having the "prey" having no-little chance to survive. Someone could argue the fact that hunting people is to "thin out the population", however it would never pass in court. So in the past it was "ok" to hunt for food that you needed, however now in the "present" people still hunt but they don't do it for the same reasons.
Now people hunt for the "sport" in it, or just for the "taste" of the meat. These reasons shouldn't be allowed, however they exist for the purpose of hunting. With the way times are, there is no reason for hunting to exist any more. It is unnecessary and inhumane to allow such an act to still exist. The reason why it still exists is because the government is making a large profit off of it. The licenses that are required to hunt, the government is getting money for. They are also getting the taxes that go on the products sold for the hunting season. There are some animals that are without the need to be "thinned out" that are still being hunted. The defense for hunting these animals is "to thin out the population", however the population is already thinned out too much now. The problem is even though the population is "thinned out" it isn't "thinned out" enough to call the animal "endangered". This is rather unfortunate, and there are some animals that will never have that classification because there is too much money tied up in that animal for hunting. A good example of this is deer.
There are some people that use the defense that hunting deer causes less traffic accidents with that animal. The problem with that theory is that deer will always cross the road. This is true especially if the deer get the scent of blood in the area that they are in. This will cause the deer to leave the area (sometimes with a high rate of speed) to get away from that form of danger that they sensed. This in-turn may cause a deer to cross the road and cause a traffic-accident. For times like this, the deer are blamed, however the hunters should be blamed for it. The problem is that no one will look at it in this way because that would mean that there would be less of a reason to hunt deer any more.
There is currently no need to hunt deer. They are large animals that are more timid than any animal of their size. This is how most hunters are able to kill the deer, is by using the positive things about this animal against it. Using bait like apples, etc. to draw the deer into the open. This is done because most of the hunters today cannot hunt the animal without using something to bait it. In the past the hunters would follow the herd, and attack the one that they felt was best for the tribe (more than one family) to survive off of. The problem now is you have hunters that believe that more is better. These hunters will probably shoot more than one deer for the season; however will register the kill as someone else in the family that has a hunting license. This shouldn't be allowed, however it happens all the time. For the time it would take to prove that the person didn't shoot the deer in the first place, the season would be over. If someone were to prove that the person didn't shoot it, there would be fewer kills in that family for the animals. The problem with this would be the amount of money that is tied in with that hunting season.
Anyone that cares for life, in general, will feel awful to have the animal die. I feel the same way as these people because I personally do not see the reason into the hunting, in the first place. To kill is wrong, however it seems to be ok to kill something when the season is right. I say this is wrong no matter what. I know of many people that hunt, however have yet to convince me to do it too. The animal is a true innocent. There are some that can be a problem when they hang around the roads, however that is not their fault. This is the fault of man. Man has built these roads in the habitat of the animals and expects that the animals will stay out of the way. These people must think that the animals are truly stupid, because it was the animals' home first. It would be like saying that if a person were to put a road through your yard that you would not bother the person. Even if the person said that it was there to help people more, you wouldn't stand for something like this. If you are like me, I would hang around that road more to cause problems. This is what the animals do; however they consider the roads just another thing to walk across. The animals do not do things to be annoying, unlike people. The animals will try to not pay any attention to the road and continue as if it wasn't there in the first place. This is what makes the animals different from man. The animals seem not to care that the road is in their yard, however man would cause problems on/around the road to be a nascent.
There is currently no need for hunting of any kind. The lost life of the animals, that are killed by hunters, is something that many people will mourn. This is true because there are many of us that still believe that all life is precious. To kill a life is like just like killing part of yourself. It is wrong and shouldn't happen. To kill an innocent animal, such as deer, just shows how ruthless/barbaric that the human race really is. To kill another life is suppose to one of the worst acts that anyone can do, however for some reason to kill an animal it is right. It doesn't make any sense to me, however that is one of those "unknowns" that exist in the world today. May not make sense however it does exist nonetheless.
