TV & movies seem to be showing more and more things now more than ever before. I had just watched a movie off of TBS (that I taped Sunday night) last night and realized that the more that people think of something, the more they will show it for everyone to see on TV or on a movie. The movie I saw was "Atomic Twister". In my opinion, this movie was a good movie, however it did show things that I even found offensive. I can honestly say that something offensive to me takes a lot of effort because there are many things that I do not find offensive on TV, however this movie found something that I did find offensive.

In the movie there was a boy (age around 8-10) being babysat by a teenage girl (I think she was a teenager). Whenever the boy was shown by the movie he was always looking down the top of the teenage girl. There was a time in the movie that they were playing twister, and the boy tried to get under the girl so that she would have to climb over him to spin the needle to continue the game. Now I find this offensive. This movie is implying that at no matter the age of any guy, they are always trying to look down the top of every girl they are around. The thing I find offensive about this is the fact that most girls think this already, and having it shown on a movie for everyone to see, it makes them to believe it more.

The reason I find it offensive is just the simple fact that I personally don't look down the tops of girls every chance I get. I feel that it is an offensive thing to do and I feel that it is wrong to do it, and for those who think this is weird I can honestly say that I am not gay either - so don't think that way because I am not. Don't get me wrong about girls though; I will take a look at their figure closely however I will not look down her top. There are guys out there (drunk almost half the week) that will do just the opposite of myself, trust me some of them are friends of mine. I find it wrong when they do it, so I decided to not be like them. The other reason I don't do it, as I have seen many times happen to my friends, is that if a girl catches you do that you have a good chance to be "slugged" very hard by them for doing such an act. Now the funny thing is about that, to me, is the fact that when a guy gets "slugged" by a girl 9 times out of 10 the guy falls to the ground. This happens because 1 the guy isn't expecting the girl to be able to "slug" him that hard, and 2 the guy has his eyes down her top so he can't see it coming. The thing is when the guy falls to the floor after being "slugged" everyone laughs at the guy because the girl knocked him down. It is kind of embarrassing for the guy because he got "slugged" by the girl and knocked onto the floor, and especially embarrassing because everyone is laughing at the guy that saw him get hit.

In my opinion, no one under the age of 16 years of age, male or female, should be thinking of anything else except his/her studies, being with his/her friends, and having fun while still being young. Nothing else should be on the minds of anyone younger than 16 years of age. However in the world today, that is only a dream, which is really an unfortunate reality. There are people that believe that his/her education is the most important thing and the rest can wait. There are people who believe that his/her social life is the most important thing and the rest can wait. The truth is that both of these groups of people are wrong. The best thing for everyone to do is to find a balance between the 2 groups; education and social life need to have a perfect balance to be able to deal with the world today. If you go with only one side you will find later on in life that you are regretting that choice and wish you didn't make it, however if a person is able to keep a perfect balance between both they shouldn't have any regrets about it. The problem is finding the perfect balance and being able to keep it.

With everything that a person can see on TV or on a movie, there is almost always a happy ending to the storyline. In real life that is not always what happens. The more that people believe in what they are watching on TV or on a movie, the more that people will be wishing for the same type of situation to happen to them. The problem is that those people aren't really willing for that type of situation to happen without having it drop into his/her laps. Many now believe that computers are the new way to the future, which they don't need to learn how to write, or know how to identify any of his/her spelling/grammar mistakes. The truth is that if he/she doesn't learn how to do the proper way to write, they have a chance to be mistaken when they do type something up. Not all computers have the necessary about of technology to have an auto-correct for some spelling mistakes, and some don't have the ability to identify all of a person's grammar mistakes either.

The more that a person learns from computers the less they care about the basics for school. Such as the writing, the socializing, the ability to have fun at times. If things stay the way that they are now, in the future the only ones that know how to spell numbers on a cheque (as an example) will be those that are in the "senior citizens homes".
