The war on terrorism has begun due to the attack on September 11, 2001. Everyone across the world knew that the United States would retaliate from the attack on the World Trade Center, which many people had died from. The terrorist attack showed to everyone that the United States was vulnerable, and also proved to everyone that it could have been worse. Where the suicide terrorist were able to get their weapons onboard the planes, may or may not have had explosives on them, they could have an explosive with toxic consequences. Many did not believe that the United States would retaliate as soon as they did, and with the amount that they did.
Ever since the war on terrorism started, there has been more "friendly fire" deaths than having the people we are attacking have taken out from our side. Having the United States, Canada, Russia, China, Japan, Germany, Britain, and France all on one side, and with all these militaries the technology seems to be not up-to-date for everyone not to shoot each other. This doesn't seem right at all. Each of the countries should be able to have their equipment updated so that there are less friendly fire incidents.
Many believe that the war on terrorism is necessary in the East. I believe that the war should start in our own backyards first. We have always had children beating on other children to prove that they are dominant. We have many children stealing from stores to show that they can do it and get away with it. These are all acts of terrorism too, just many people don't want to emit to it. There are those whom believe things like that happening are just a part of the culture for the area. I say that these people need a reality check.
Currently they have not confirmed whether Ben Laddin is dead or alive. I have talked to many people about the war and the only way that we all can see how it looks is that they will never confirm it. This is a strategic maneuver that the Allies have done. They can say that Ben Laddin is suspected into a country, blow the living hell out of it, and then go on to the next country. The more that people believe he is still alive, the longer the war will last. Although President Bush has said that he will be attacking all the countries with terrorism running the country, it is my opinion that his military background is clouding his judgment. They have already devastated one country because of the war, and now they start on a new one. This war has made many people think that President Bush has gone too far. Recently with the death of 4 Canadians due to friendly fire has actually reinforced the belief that President Bush has started to believe that he is "GOD". He has threatened to attack with nukes at a country, he doesn't seem to care that his own military cannot tell its allies from its enemies, and he seems to not care whether the next attack he does will do any good for the war or not.
If President Bush really wanted to stop terrorism altogether, then he would look at his own actions. His actions are basically saying that if a country doesn't want to side with him, he will attack and put someone in charge that will be on his side. President Bush, in my eyes, seems to not put a single care of the men and women he is sending into war. It is my opinion that President Bush should be the next one to be stopped because there is many people (including Americans) that feel that he is going to far with this war.
If President Bush really wanted to show that he was against terrorism, then he should stop it within his own country (as should every country). There is terrorism all throughout every country; it isn't just in the Middle East. The terrorism in the Middle East is just more in the open for everyone to see that is the only difference. It isn't like the United States is a perfect country because it isn't; it has just as much terrorism within it as every other country does (if not more). President Bush should start to clean up his own country before he starts to act like it is the Middle East's fault for all the terrorism in the world today.
If a person were to go technical to the thought of "terrorism", then every country in the world would be affected due to every country has terrorism. Terrorism is actually every bully that exists that picks on others, every gang related acts, every bank that gets robbed, mob related acts, threats by everyone, etc.; all of these things exist in every country and all of these things are actually classified as a form of terrorism. If there were going to be a war on terrorism, it would be a good idea to stop these things in your own country first. This is just a thought for everyone to consider.
