She is my favourite character is this manga. She is mild but so rational that the others (especially Usagi) are not often talks to her because they don't understand what she is talking about. She is always readings while the others are chatting. That's why she has not got any friends before she met Usagi.
However she is so clever ( her IQ is 300 , seems impossible, but possible in manga ). She always gets full marks for every subjects in every tests and exams!!!!! Therefore, she is the instructor or adviser when they do their homework in Rei's home. In manga she hasn't got "boyfriend" in her dictionary, it is because she thinks studying is more important than that. Therefore, she never falls in love before!! One more reason for that is, she will have rashes when she sees love letter. That due to three reasons: 1) She is nervous and shy. 2)She doesn't believe that. She thinks she is a girl who hasn't got any merit, so she don't believe any bos would fal in love with her. 3)As i said, that is a kind of repellence. Because she choose studying rather than him. But in TV version, she seems once to fall in love with her classmate.
She lives with her mother only, because her parents are divorced when she was young. Her mother is a doctor and her father is a famous japanese artist.
She is the brain in the team particularly in the first series. But she has the least power in the team (except Chibiusa). Her job is to find out the weakness of the enermy and analyst where is the enermy.

Mercury Auqua Rhapsody (Forth and Fifth series) -- A harp is created and she strums the harp water flows out from it like an attack
Mercury Auqua Mirage (Only in the Ami-chan special called Ami's First Love) -- She creates a ball of water and she throws it at the enermy and the water ball split into a lot water balls and attack toward the enermy at different angles and at a very fast speed.
