Let My People Go

Once again this call echoes through the universe. God is calling out His people from the bondage of religion and slavery into a new life. We live in exciting times at the moment and the whole Christian world is buzzing with reports of unusual signs and wonders and they really make the people wonder. Is this God or is it something else? It was no different in the time of Moses.

The signs and wonders were used by God, to bring both judgment on those that were not His people and to plant faith into the hearts of His own people. We read in the Bible that Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith (Heb 12: 2) and that tells me that when we need it, Jesus will plant faith in our hearts. He is the Author, and we see Him at work in the hearts of God's people, which did not want to listen to Moses because of "anguish of spirit and cruel bondage"(Ex 6:9).

We have a lot to say about the laughter, the manifestations, and now it is gold fillings and gold dust and God's people are not sure if this is God!

Most of us are familiar with the story of Moses and the magicians before Pharaoh. They were oppressed for such a long time that they had lost the ability to discern what was of God and what was not. They did not believe what Moses said. They saw some signs which Moses did before them and there was a bit of hope and then because Moses was not free yet of the fear of men and he watered down the message he had to bring to Pharaoh (Exo. 5:3?), their oppression had become worse. Pharaoh was not impressed at all and neither were God's people.

I asked the Lord about it and He reminded me of the story of Moses. The first few miracles, the rod turning into a snake and the water turning into blood and the frogs, mae no impression, because the magicians did the same miracles. Yet there was a slight difference, the magicians could copy what Moses was doing but they could not undo the plagues, only Moses could. But God's people did not see that.

There was another sign and this time the magicians could not copy it and they had to admit that this was the finger of God (Exo. 8:16-19). What happened here? Well, Moses was told to slay the dust with his rod and it turned into gnats, living creatures. And now suddenly God's people remembered that there was only One Creator and He was their God and they thought: Could it be true? Is God really setting us free? Now they were all eager to see what would happen next. Faith started to grow in their hearts and it grew stronger with every new miracle.

Something else happened at that point. God said to Moses: from now on the plagues that hit the Egyptians , will not touch My own people. And God's people suddenly found that there was supernatural protection in the time of great judgment. Because of their faith! The faith God had planted into their hearts, by the miracle of creation.

I like the story about the hailstorm. The people were warned not to come outside, because the storm would be so bad that any living thing that would be outside, would be killed. Any living thing....but Moses! Because Pharaoh (Exo. 9: 27) called for him and I can just see the sinners and saints alike with open mouths watch through their windows as Moses walks to Pharaoh's palace, in the midst of the hail storm. Not only does he arrive there unharmed but when Pharaoh asks him to pray for the hail to stop, Moses walks right outside of the city, through the storm, and only outside does he pray and the storm stops. Hallelujah! What a God we serve!!

And then the final judgment comes and under the divine protection of God's wings they eat the Passover Lamb and the next morning they are free to go. And that night something else happened which is not mentioned in the Bible, but I believe when they partook of the Passover Lamb , and I believe it was then that there was no more feeble (sick) person amongst them. God brought His people forth with many signs and wonders and there was not a feeble person amongst them.

Now back to what is happening today. God is bringing His people out from under the yoke of religion, with signs and wonders and God's people wonder! There is only one thing that will convince them that this is God and that is when they see that those wonders bring forth life out of dust. What do I call life? Life is there when people get saved, when God's people repent of their unbelief. When they seek God with their whole heart and return to their first love. When they are so hungry to have an intimate relationship with Jesus.

Yes some of the signs of today make you wonder. I have thought about the gold dust and I had to think of what happened in Jerusalem. It says in the Bible that when the shadow of Peter fell on the sick people they were healed. What was that shadow? As I have said earlier on in my article about God's refining fire, the Lord had shown me there that from Toronto would come a prophetic declaration . So always when I look at what's new in Toronto, I look at it from that point of view. I examine the fruit, does it bring life? And then I ask myself, what is God trying to tell us here. I believe that the shadow of Peter was not his natural shadow . I believe it was the glory of God shining through his pores, that fell on the people. There was no other way they could describe it, so they called it his shadow.

And what about Moses, after he had been in the Presence of God and had seen the glory, he had to cover his face. It was shining. I feel the signs and wonders with gold dust, gold teeth etc are just God announcing to us that he will come and dwell inside of us, His glory will shine through us and we will see great miracles happen and great healings taking place.

And I think these are not the last of the signs and wonders we will see. And of course we have to be careful, because just like in the time of Moses, there will be the enemy who tries to copy the signs and wonders and bring confusion amongst God's people. Maybe we should spend less time debating amongst ourselves about whether this is God or not and rather seek His face and start believing that the times are here at last, when God will bring us out of the religious system and into our promised land .

The signs of today are not so strange really. Maybe the next sign will be that we can walk on the water. We have heard of multiplication miracles with enough food for everybody. And great miracles and healings. Maybe some frogs? Or gnats? I am just joking ofcourse, but.one never knows. One thing I know, My Father can do anything and He is setting me free and drawing me under His wings and He promised to fill me with His glory and I believe it!! Amen.
