THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE.

The Future.
Do you want to know about the future? If you are even a little curious, do not be surprised. That is why most of us read our Bible Prophecy with interest.

Not much has changed since Eve walked in the Garden of Eden. We still run after knowledge, we still collect knowledge, and whole ministries are devoted to dissecting the Bible just so that they will be able to prove what is still to come and when. This quest for knowledge is especially directed towards the Second Coming of Jesus and the end of this world.

Lots of calculations are made and typology in the Bible is abused as it were, just so we can prove that our theories are right. One knows more than the other and the very elect are those that really know it. Or not? We are now living right in the middle of the book of Revelation…or maybe not? Maybe it is true after all that we will escape before the tribulation starts. Who can answer all those anxious questions?

The Answer.
And while we are so busy trying to find the answer to all our questions, we forget Him Who Himself is the Answer!

He is the Truth, the Way, the Life! And the only thing that is required of us at this time, is that we stop building our own little kingdoms, that we stop being so terribly busy DOING things and that we search for God with all our hearts. We need to reach out to Him in Whom we live and move and have our being. That is the only thing required of us in this time and we cannot allow ourselves to be distracted.

Under God's wings.
When we remember what Jesus told us would happen in the end times, we realise that this is the time He was speaking about. We live in the end times.

Wars and rumours of wars, earthquakes, floods, extreme weather conditions, unrest, increasing violence-- especially amongst the young people, lawlessness, rebellion, drought and famine. Darkness is increasing. It is now time to find our way under Father’s wings. It is there that we do not need to be afraid, as He has promised to take care of us.

Can you imagine what needs to happen around you before you can say that you saw a thousand fall at your one side and ten thousand at your other side? Where there would be terror at night and pestilence going around, and plagues that would not come near your dwelling yet not touch you? Read your newspaper every day. There is enough misery out there for you to decide to stay in bed and pull the blankets over your head. That is if you have at least a roof above your head and a blanket to cover yourself with.

Distraction.
Do not be distracted. Do not occupy yourself with all of things that are not important, but search for the love of God, the grace of our Lord Jesus and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Only then can He live inside of us in all His fullness and glory and we will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of our Father. Only then will we BE and no longer DO.

The Cross.

Forgiveness.
We do not fully realise what Jesus has done for us on the cross . Surely He bore our sins and sickness and our pain and by grace through faith we can receive forgiveness for our sins. The same way by faith, through grace we can receive everything we need in order to build His church.

Provision.
When the temple had to be built by Solomon, his father king David said to him that he had collected all the gold and silver and everything that was needed to build that temple . King David was a type of Jesus. When God announced that the glory of the latter house would be greater than that of the former house, He started of by saying, "All the silver and all the gold is Mine."

He didn’t say that for nothing.

God’s glory
In the same way, by grace through faith, we can receive the fact that God shall fill us with His Presence and glory in these last days, because that is what Jesus died for. We,or those of us who do not allow ourselves to be distracted, can earnestly seek God with all of our hearts and be filled.

Obedience.
Jesus said in John 14 that we must obey His commandments. What are those commandments?

We are to love the Lord our God with all our hearts and love our neighbour as ourselves.

Can we do that in our own strength? No, absolutely not! But, we can ask Him to change our hearts.

Prayer.
This is one prayer that will be answered: "Lord, help me to love You with my whole heart and to love my neighbour like myself." How do we love our neighbour? By bringing all our pain to the cross and receive by faith through grace a changed heart. And when we do that we will be able to forgive from our hearts those that have hurt us and love them like we love ourselves. And then He will break the dividing wall between us. How wonderful that all this is ours by grace! We cannot add anything to it.

Entering into His rest.
Dear brothers and sisters, there remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered his rest has himself also ceased from his own works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest.

Let us not run after knowledge but rather let us get to know our Lord Jesus Christ, our coming Bridegroom.

Your sister, Froukje.
