THE
TREE OF KNOWLEDGE.
The
Future. Not much has changed since Eve walked in the Garden of Eden. We still run after knowledge, we still collect knowledge, and whole ministries are devoted to dissecting the Bible just so that they will be able to prove what is still to come and when. This quest for knowledge is especially directed towards the Second Coming of Jesus and the end of this world. Lots of calculations are made and typology in the Bible is abused as it were, just so we can prove that our theories are right. One knows more than the other and the very elect are those that really know it. Or not? We are now living right in the middle of the book of Revelation…or maybe not? Maybe it is true after all that we will escape before the tribulation starts. Who can answer all those anxious questions? The Answer. He is the Truth, the Way, the Life! And the only thing that is required of us at this time, is that we stop building our own little kingdoms, that we stop being so terribly busy DOING things and that we search for God with all our hearts. We need to reach out to Him in Whom we live and move and have our being. That is the only thing required of us in this time and we cannot allow ourselves to be distracted. Under God's wings. Wars and rumours of wars, earthquakes, floods, extreme weather conditions, unrest, increasing violence-- especially amongst the young people, lawlessness, rebellion, drought and famine. Darkness is increasing. It is now time to find our way under Father’s wings. It is there that we do not need to be afraid, as He has promised to take care of us. Can you imagine what needs to happen around you before you can say that you saw a thousand fall at your one side and ten thousand at your other side? Where there would be terror at night and pestilence going around, and plagues that would not come near your dwelling yet not touch you? Read your newspaper every day. There is enough misery out there for you to decide to stay in bed and pull the blankets over your head. That is if you have at least a roof above your head and a blanket to cover yourself with. Distraction. The Cross. Forgiveness. Provision. He didn’t say that for nothing. God’s glory Obedience. We are to love the Lord our God with all our hearts and love our neighbour as ourselves. Can we do that in our own strength? No, absolutely not! But, we can ask Him to change our hearts. Prayer. Entering into His rest.
Let us not run after knowledge but rather let us get to know our Lord Jesus Christ, our coming Bridegroom. Your sister, Froukje. Last updated
