The moon shines through the silent night. Its light is reflected in a lonely figure who patrols around strange vaults. Too dark to see them clearly. The figure slowly walks on, silently and concentrated. In this time you have to be careful. For one brief moment the person steps out of the shade into the moonlight. The light shines on a face so mysterious and beautiful you can hardly believe it is human. White eyes, without pupils or any color, view the surroundings. Then the person disappears in the shade again.
The figure walks past mountain like pillars. Strange shapes, not made by nature. If you try to view them better you would see the pillars are made by human hands. Every pillar disappears into the sky through the clouds. Hiding what is up there. The night protects them from attacks on this unknown planet.
Then a soft yellow light starts shining in the darkness of the shades. Accompanied by cracks and rustle sounds. The figure stops walking. A graceful arm is lifted up to a shoulder where the light and sound comes from. A small hand touches the yellow circle.
" Khira….Khira? Damn this computer!" A irritated voice resounds. " Are ya there Khira? Answer me darlin’, the computer was shut down again. I hate when that happens! But nevermind that. What’s cooking downthere darlin’? Any scary aliens or dangerous wildlife? Common darlin’ it’s getting lonely up here so tell me something interesting." The voice of the man laughs.
Then the figure answers with a soft melodious voice. " Hello Raph! Playing with the controls again? Where is Nicky? Really after last night i would have thought they would keep you out of the control room Raph." The sweet voice of the woman in the shade sounds amused. Elegantly she moves on listening to the loud laugh of the man. " It could have happened to anyone darlin’. Not my fault that cyborg went delirious."
The woman named Khira starts to laugh. " Not your fault Raph?" She starts to laugh louder. "You where trying to feed the cyborg coffee and you are surprised it short-circuited? Where did you get your degree Raph? From the TV back on earth or were they really too desperate so they hired you to join us to this planet?" Shaking her head in disbelieve she walks around a corner. Still watching the surroundings for any suspicious movements.
" Okay okay Khira, maybe it was my fault. But ya can’t blame me those losers of the counsel have no sense of humor!" Offended he goes silent. Khira smiles and speaks again. " Nevermind Raph i won’t tease you anymore. Hmmm, nothing suspicious downhere. Too quiet if you ask me." The man answers. " That’s okay i guess. Have ya checked the shield generators Khira? Nick asked me to tell ya something is wrong with them. Joel and Max are coming downthere to escort ya to the generators. For some reason we can’t control them from up here. And no, i didn’t give them coffee!" Again he laughs.
Khira doesn’t, she looks worried. Those generators must work perfect in order to keep the cities protected. " Where are Joel and Max now Raph?"
The man stops laughing. " Exit 24B Khira. They should be there waiting for ya now darlin’."
" Okay Raph, Khira out." Again she touches the yellow circle on her shoulder and the light disappears. Swiftly she moves on to the desired exit.
" I wonder what could be wrong Max. Those generators never gave any trouble." A tall blond man turns around to look at the older man next to him. Max looks back with a dumb grin on his face. " General Khira is on her way here. So we have nothing to worry about Joel. Damn i could use a cigarette now!" Max lifts up his shoulders and steps into the moonlight. Two large laser-guns hang on his sides. He really hates this planet and its mysteries. And especially the protective armor they have to wear. He can’t move around in those things. Max curses and grumbles. Joel sighs. He is feeling nervous and tense. Something hangs in the air waiting to strike. He looks up to the sky. The green and black clouds drift over calmly.
" Hello boys, having a romantic walk in the moonlight together?" Both men turn around to the woman who leans against the wall behind them.
