The old stallion sighs and shakes his silver white manes.

"You are so young Sre’tah and yet your soul is as old as mine. I know they killed your parents and my beautiful daughter Ki’ris, but I know not all humans are like the ones who slaughtered innocent centaurs. And I swear on my holy name that I believe these humans are special. For I am Marak’K’Say." His black eyes glow and his head is lifted in the air with pride. "Remember my name and who I am Sre’tah. That is what makes you who you are right now." He looks down at the face of his grandson. "Forgive me for my stupidity grandfather." He nods with his head and makes the raven black manes fall before his eyes. The old stallion laughs softly. "How can you know what the world is about when you can’t even nod without moving your manes." Then he goes silent when he doesn’t hear the singing anymore. Worried he turns around and looks between the leaves of the bushes that surrounds them. The boy stopped crying and the girl is laughing. Then the stallion sniffs the air and neighs in fear.

Sre’tah does the same thing and dances nervously on his long legs. The air is filled with the smell of a wolf. "The winds must have changed Sre’tah. I didn’t smell a wolf here before."

Sre’tah neighs. "This smell is different grandfather, I know it’s a wolf but yet it smells like it’s not there. I can’t explain it."

Then a few branches snap behind them. "Maybe that’s because I am not there but here behind you stallion." The old stallion neighs in fear while the younger one snorts in anger. His brown eyes burn with fire. His body ready to protect his grandfather. The wolf sits down. "Oh come on young centaur. If I wanted to attack you, you and your grandfather would have been dead by now." Akar grins and licks one of his paws. "Hello there K’say, long time no see." The silver white stallion walks towards the wolf and sniffs the air that surrounds them. Then he neighs in anger. "Akar, you old toad! Why did you scare us like that?" He hits the wolf in his face with his long horse tail, using it as a whip. Akar howls in pain and growls to the large centaur. "K’say you fool, show some respect for the elder." K’say laughs out loud. "Elder Akar? You are just 110 years older then me and that’s practically nothing."

"Grandfather? What is going on?" Sre’tah dances on his legs waiting nervously for an answer.

"Stand still black one, you are making me crazy with that dancing of yours." Akar mumbles some more. "Who’s foal is this K’say?" The silver white centaur grins with pride. "Akar meet my grandson, Ki’ris’s son Sre’tah." Akar frowns and smiles friendly at the young centaur. "I didn’t know Ki’ris had a foal K’say."

Sre’tah relaxes a bit and stops the shaking of his body. His grandfather has a wolf for a friend, okay he can life with that. A natural enemy of the centaurs is their friend. He shakes his long manes but smiles back at the wolf in front of them.

"AKAR??? Where are you?" The voice of a human boy calls his name through the forest. Akar answers. "I am here humans, follow my voice." He laughs and looks at the surprised faces of the centaurs. " You must meet hem K’ay, they are like nothing I have ever seen in my whole live." K’say neighs with respect. "If you say that my friend, they must be really special."

They can hear small footsteps on the with leaves covered forest ground. Two bright voices are laughing and talking. Sre’tah frowns. "They are playing?" He snorts again and waits for the humans to join them. Then the little boy appears from behind a small bush, his eyes wide open when he sees the centaurs. The girl follows laughing and when she sees the wolf she runs towards him to give him a hug. "Now now Rowena, greet my friends first before you greet me." Although Akar sounds firm his eyes shine with pleasure. K’say smiles at the girl and neighs a welcome. She looks annoyed and walks to the old stallion. "I can’t understand you." She looks up to him and almost falls over because he is so much taller then she is. Then she touches the soft silver fur of his body and penetrates his head with her thoughts. "HELLO THERE!!!!" Her mental voice screams in his head and K’say laughs out loud. This is going to be very interesting.
