" I wonder Kaine, there is nothing you can do for the humans. They are dead or hiding. I looked for signs of life as you requested but there is nothing there. I am sorry brother but i can’t let you go down there. Far too dangerous for a man alone. Besides mother would be really angry and hurt if you left. Although that shouldn’t stop you." With a big sigh the young dragon rests his head on his deadly claws. Closes his eyes as he rests in the warm sunlight. His large body glows with fire in the bright light, his powerful wings lie beside his strong body. Any human would fear the big dragon, would look at him in amazement. But this human just touches the big head of the dragon in absence. Caresses the soft manes and looks to the blue sky above him.

" Zodiac??? Is it wrong to feel what i feel? Maybe i should stay here, the only place i know. But then again i couldn’t live with myself to allow this slaughtering. Think of it Zod, i would be the only human left" He sighs as he stands up and stretches his legs, " What chance of happiness would i have if i knew i was the only one left?" The man leans against the warm body of the dragon. His blue eyes full of pain, his hand touches the skin of his brother feeling him breathe. It relaxes him and makes him think clearly. The great dragon opens one eye and looks at the strong human next to him. " What do you want me to say brother? I think you already made a decision for yourself……okay, if that is what you want. I will go with you then" Kaine looks at Zodiac in surprise. " Sorry my friend, i can’t ask that of you" He touches the dragon and walks down to the roost below him. He knows what he has to do and he can’t delay it any longer. He hears Zodiac roar and mumble and he smiles. He knows he won’t be alone on this quest, his big soulbrother won’t take no for an answer. Quickly he takes a firm stand as he puts his arms over his head laughing.

The great flapping of wings is heard. A strong wind almost blows the man over. He can hear him breathe heavily and suddenly a hot fireball is thrown to the ground next to him. A warning, the man knows that. Another one just in front of him. Kaine can’t move as the heat burns his body.

"ZODIAC!!!!!" The flames in front of the man are extinguished. A cold layer of ice covers the hot flames. The clear voice of a female dragon is heard, full with pride and authority.

A great silver wing hits Zodiac in his flank, giving him a warning. Telling him to back off. Zodiac screams in anger and frustration. But the young red male doesn’t impress the smaller silver dragon. "BEHAVE!!!!!" The female roars and hisses as she lands down next to the laughing human. Her white mane flutter in the wind as she gracefully folds her wings to her sides. Her blue eyes stare in the dark brown ones of her son who lands behind Kaine. His pride has been hurt and he looks back in hers ashamed for his behaviour. She grins at him and forgives him with a royal nod.

" Well, well what is the matter with you Kaine? Stop laughing silly, you almost got toasted by my hot-tempered son." She looks at the man with love as the tears roll down his face. " Sorry Mirage, but i…well…hahahahahaha…hot-tempered, you can say that again!" A thrust in his back tells him he has to stop laughing. He looks up to the queen dragon and sees she frowns her eyebrows. He sees the twinkle in her blue eyes and knows she is in a good mood. " I need to talk to you Mirage. It is very important and it is something i need to do." With a sad voice he looks to the beautiful dragon that he loves so much. Her eyes look at him in pain, her head comes down as she looks at him face to face. " I know what you are going to say my son. Although i am afraid to lose you…well, i understand. " She sighs and turns around, carefully avoiding hitting the little human with her tail. She smiles as she remembers how all dragons had to watch their steps for the little boy who played on the roost. " You are letting him go mother? Why? I mean he has never been alone and it is far to dangerous down there." The heavy deep voice of Zodiac sounds concerned. "Mother??" Quickly he walks up to her, his eyes full with questions.
