Letter from the Editor
Well, time again for the latest edition. I think that overall this is arguably one of our best to date, but I will leave the final opinion to each of you. I have tried to add a few more graphics here and there to freshen up the place, so let me know if and when we become a bit too graphics heavy. I stumbled across the Clyde Caldwell and Larry Elmore sites (you will recognize their work from the various AD&D products over the years), so expect to see a few of their works here and there from now on. I also wanted to congratulate Martek on both his thirtieth birthday (keep running, or the Sandmen will catch you!) as well as wish him the best of luck on his move. Last but not least, we're all glad Vic and his wife survived hurricane Georges when it passed through Puerto Rico (but, when you think about it, can anything really kill off Vic? I mean, at least permanently?).

News: Lord of the Rings Movie to be Made
New Line Cinema has announced plans to turn the Tolkien trilogy into a series of movies, the first of which is set to be released in Christmas 2000. It sounds as if a lot of talent is being put into the movie with a fairly large amount of financial backing as well (at least $130 million). All three movies are to be shot simultaneously with the sequels to be released in the summer and Christmas of 2001. Although many of us voiced concerns over this project (will it be true to the books, will it look "cheesy" or silly, excessive marketing, etc.), all of the knights seemed interested and hopeful for the project. Only time will tell though... In the meantime, you each better get in line for your Gandalf dolls. Until then we will have to satisfy ourselves with the new "Star Wars" movie coming out.

News: SciFi Channel Reruns "Star Trek"
The SciFi Channel is now showing "Star Trek" in its original length, spreading the hour-long show over a period of ninety minutes which also includes interviews with the cast, writers, and others as well as "insights" into the show itself. Many of the knights have expressed annoyance over the shameful number of commercials being shown, as well as the inane commentaries and redundant flashbacks (of things we just finished watching!), but overall the opinion was favorable. We may be sentimental, but apparently we are all still Trekkies at heart. Welcome back, James T. Kirk.

Blast From the Past!
I found these images on the internet and thought you guys might get a kick out of them. The artwork is classic Erol Otus (he was definitely no master), but it instantly reminded me of the modules. Now all I have to do is get one of you with a scanner to get the cover art to "Keep on the Borderlands" and "Vault of the Drow." Enjoy!
