Guild Rules

Following are the rules to be followed at all times by all guild members. Failure to follow the rules as laid out here will result in removal from Arcane Valor at the discretion of the High Council.

1) No Chronic Begging: Consisting of money, items, teleports, power leveling, and other similar requests. It is alright to ask occasionally but is frowned upon on a continual basis.

2) There is a maximum of 2 characters per account in AV. The minimum level for a new member is level 20, and for an alternate character of a current member level 15. If more then 2 are discovered due notice will be given to decide which characters will be removed. Failure to respond to a request for character removal will result in removal of all characters, at which time the member may petition for reinstatement of 2 characters. The guild leader shall be exempt from this rule, but shall be ready to log in with his or her primary character as needs arrise.

3) Officers will be available to handle member problems independently as they arise, and request assistance from other officers or members as they deem appropriate. This does NOT mean that officers will be expected to rush to the aid of a member in a non-emergency situation. Emergency situations such as harassment by other players will be addressed immediately by all available officers and members.

4) The High Council will handle any internal problems. The High Council alone will mete disciplinary action. Failure to heed the High Council in internal matters will be grounds for dismissal. Should a Council member be involved in the dispute, they shall not have a voice in the decision. The Guild Treasurer or Secretary (as available) will stand in their place.
The guild leader may make decisions out of the bounds of the rest of these rules. This includes recruitment, punishment and removal from the guild. If you do not agree with these decisions, email all council members as well as the Guild Leader. A Council meeting will be called and the matter voted on. All Council members will need to be present at the meeting - Officers may not substitute for their Council member.

5) All members are requested to render assistance to other players, whether or not they are Arcane Valor members, as immediately and completely as possible.

6) You are not to steal kills for ANY reason. Any member observed stealing kills by the High Council will be dismissed immediately.

7) You are to speak politely when using the shout, ooc, say, and auctions channels, or when speaking with unknown individuals.

8) If you are a master of any trade, we ask you to use your skills to benefit the guild. You are not required to do this, but it would be helpful to all members in need.

9) All members are requested to involve themselves in the guild. Come to the events and participate in the activities. Group with other AV members whenever possible. Spread the word of our guild. If you chose to make your character anonymous, turn on the role-play switch so your guild name shows proudly. Let everyone know just how fine a guild we have!

10) Try to get along with your fellow members. If you have ideological or philosophical differences with another member, respect his or her right to hold their opinions. If there is a conflict between members that can not be resolved by the members themselves, inform one of the High Council. All conflicts will be handled confidentially and fairly. First and foremost, do NOT carry a conflict into public channels or guildsay. Keep it private.

11) When you are spoken to in guildsay a response is appreciated. Don't try to reply if you are in battle. We don't want our members turning into babbling corpses! When the battle is over, scroll up (shift+uparrow) and try to give a response if no one else has. Even an "I don't know" is appropriate. Everyone in the guild is important. Make sure everyone feels important and not ignored.

12) All members will extend the same respect to each other as they would to the High Council.

13) Officers are to give possible members the email address of the guild leader and any other information the prospective member will need to gain entrance to the guild. An email from the prospective member with their name, class and level is required before they will be allowed to join. All new recruits will be subject to a probationary period for evaluation by the officers and other members. Officers must seek the approval of their immediate Council member or the Guild Leader before inviting anyone into the Guild.

14) Keep the guild's reputation if mind. If what you are about to do would cause the guild to be looked down upon, Dont Do It. Above all, the honor of the guild should be the most important consideration in ANY action of ANY member.

15) Do make sure to role-play when around people who are role-playing, and in all zone-wide channels (except for ooc of course). Everquest is a role-playing game. Speak like that race and class would talk. You are your character.

16) Have fun! Enjoy yourself. If a situation gets you angry, move on. Norrath is a huge world with lots to offer. It doesn't pay to bring Real Life baggage into the world of Norrath. Immerse yourself in the world and your character, and take a break from the headaches of Real Life. You will find the game much more enjoyable, and so will those around you!
