Each of these links will take you to a page with picture and short description of the Species. **note from Camarila: I had mistakenly titled this page as "Penguin Breeds", and titled each page accordingly, but today I received a very informative e-mail from a "Penguin Professional" who set me straight. Here I'll quote: "Dear Camarila, I had a look at your web site the other day. You have certainly put a lot of work into it and have a fine collection of pictures and information about penguins. May I just point out something that is scientifically not entirely correct? You talk about "penguin breeds". There is no such thing as a penguin "breed". What you mean is "species". What's the difference? Well, species have evolved over millions of years (penguins have been around for at least 40 million years!) and gradually adapted to changes in
the environment through which they were able to survive. A breed is something that humans have "created" by using certain breeding regimes. Thought I mention this to you because you have really done a fine job on your site."
Cheers,
Barbara
