The Almighty Steed
of Melazar
A conversation between Bruno and the other animals of KoRT
Bruno: I tell you,
you get these humans out in the forest and they lose all their training!
Horse: Not mine. You
couldn't get him to lose anything on a bet. Speaking of bets, when's the
prayer meeting?
Bufford: I'm not gonna
go in there again, bad things ~~ whimpers and heads for a place to sleep~~
Bruno: You won't believe
what I saw this day. I tell you, I'm worried.
Horse: Okay, what
gives?
Bruno: Here, I'll
send you what I saw, you tell me. Press here if yer nosey:)
Horse: I need a drink!
Bruno: Me too!

Wandering Outrider
Raven walked down the creaky steps and descended into the dark cellar. His oil lamp cast long shadows upon the many rows of wine racks. Astounded by the sheer volume of liquid libations, he carefully made his way among the valuable "treasures". He smiled in satisfaction that he had made it to this strategic spot. "Between me and the fearsome feline, this place has never been more safe."
Raven glanced up at the pacing cat. Obviously Cali had seen his share of guard cat duty in his day. His smile turned upside down as he began to wonder if in all the confusion, he had forgotten a corkscrew. He felt frantically around in his pockets until, with a rush of relief, he produced his dearest friend. "Ack, dinna scare me like that." He moved to the racks and begun to peruse the many bottles. All of them had intricate hand drawn labels.
He picked up a rather
dusty bottle to inspect it. "Bountiful Year....Grapes crushed by Squire
Valeana." His eyes
widened and he could not help but let out a wee chuckle. "Ohhhhh...I simply
must sample this one."
Meanwhile, the diligent
cat paced back and forth upon the stairs, a plan beginning to form in it
fertile, feline, mind......

Knight Baron of the
Round Table
Baron's Log, The great Gordita's Uprising, Day three.
Baron Raven has manouvered with a crack team of gorrillas(Cali) to take over the wine cellar, an important strategic point for the people. El Presidente's Lieutenants, Austin and Mocha, have yet to respond to this threat.
El Presidente's goon squads have taken over the kitchen and great hall, though they did fall back from the courtyard area after a heavy pelting of leftover meatloaf and lumpy mashed potatoes by the peoples army. Even as I write, Austin Draconis is in the kitchen demanding we be served chicken suprise on toast for dinner! Oh the humanity!!
Horse has taken control
of the stables and the animals there in, with a combination of Marx
quotes and Bruno's
bulk. They could prove valuable allies in the final push to retake the
kitchen. I go now to rally the people with Buford's help. I do hope he
doesnt itch too bad when his fur grows back.
Viva our taste buds!!
Viva Gorditas!!
Melodias - 07:37am Oct 10, 1998 MST
Melodias dresses quickly
in her puce and auberdeen fatigues, her gold-glitter combat boots
and her rakish pink
beret. She attaches several magenta handgrenades to her weapons' belt,
and slings a B.A.R. across her back (B.A.R. = british armadillo ranger).
The armadillo bares its teeth, ready for the battle to come. Melodias slinks
down the hall and peers out at the balcony. There, her leader, El Presidente,
is masterfully addressing the troops. Suddenly, he begins to waver, then
poofs away.
Melodias uses her Extremely
Long Distance Telewoman to ascertain that El Presidente has been relocated
to the northern mountains. She spies his warm embrace of his dear wife,
and she sniffs in scorn. "This is no time for romance, oh fearless leader,
this is WAR!" she screams. With a twitch of her nose, she transports El
Presidente back to the KoRT Keep. Then she and her armadillo prepare to
repel the invading Freedom Fighters.

Squire to Lady Valeana
The battlefield lay
strewn with the dead brigands and Sydney looked around taking in the
magnificent beauty
of her surroundings. This was the first chance she had to see where
she had actually been transported. Kierra approached her, "Here Milady,
these would suit you better for our trip and by the way, it's so nice of
you to pop in like that!" Sydney smiled and replied, "Aye Kierra, indeed,
these leathers will be much better. Thank Ye for the offering. And I am
glad my timing was right. You all could have been killed if I hadn't popped
in, I just felt the need to help alla sudden". Sydney laughed, knowing
that the group would have survived without her and turned to Jacella.
She was listening to
Jacella explain why she was brought here. The next thing she knew, El
Presidente was standing
there. Sydney glared at him as he whispered to her, "Do not think that
El Presidente has forgotten about you, for when we return home we have
some unfinished business to attend to." Sydney looked sternly at him and
sneered back in a whisper, "You shall be overthrown, the rebellion has
begun, even without us." Sydney chuckled as he walked off.
As the day went on, Sydney felt more comfortable in her surroundings, watching the goings on and helping out in any way she could. She was thinking of her plans for the rebellion against El Presidente, when she felt an odd sensation again. It was a teleport again, she knew by the feeling...but who? She quickly dropped Jacella's sword, knowing she would need it in future battle and poof, she was gone.
Sydney stood there, somewhat startled to see El Presidente (out of uniform) and some woman standing next to him with an odd looking creature. Sydney's thoughts were about him when he transported, and must have linked to her and transported her also. Her quick reflexes told her to dash, but first she had something to say. She looked at him with a piercing look and spoke in a sinister way to him....."El Presidente, You Sir, will be sent on a long quest. The Lady Chancellor shall see to that when she returns, I guarantee it. YOU...shall be... Overthrown!" With the look in his eyes, Sydney knew he was appalled to hear such words. She took that moment of shock and dashed off before he knew what happened.

Just call me "Cali",
Lady Felena's Notorious Cat
Cali paced back and forth in front of the door, his ears twitching at the creaking steps as Raven descended into the darkness of the cellar. His mind was whirling as he paced. They had protected the guild's "valuables". He figured El Presidente would be back soon. Things around here seemed to happen that way. It would take more than just a diversion to overthrow the usurper and restore freedom to the people. His feline brow furrowed in thought as he sat back on his haunches mulling things over.
A clink of a bottle
from caught his attention and he realized he was thirsty. He looked
back
at the door, then
into the celler lit with the soft light of the oil lamp Raven had taken
below. His ears twitched as he strained to hear any movement from outside
the door. The guard would be changing soon...this he guaged by where the
sun had been in the sky while they were outside. He had enough time for
a quick drink of ... hmmm.... definitely no water down here. His whiskers
twitched a moment as he thought. "Now what goes with rat meat? Hmmmm....ahhh
ale...definitely ale."
He scampered down the steps to where Raven was looking at a bottle, turned left down a row of wine bottles, then to the rear of the cellar where the kegs of ale were lined up. He sniffed each of the barrels until he reached one that had been recently tapped. With a deft flick of a paw, he opened the tap to a fine drizzle, lapping at the liquid as it flowed slowly from the tap. "Hmmmm...better than catnip," he thought. Something akin to a chuckle seemed to roll from deep in Cali's throat as he drank his fill. Another flick of a paw saw the handle was returned to the closed position as he licked his whiskers free of the foam and made his way back to where Raven had settled to sample the bottle of wine. He seemed to be reading the lable before opening it.
He sat back on his
haunches again as he gazed up at Raven, waiting until he had the human's
attention. "What is
it my friend?" Raven asked. With a toss of his head, he turned took a few
steps, then gazed back toward Raven to be sure he got the message to follow
him. The guards would be changing very soon, which always meant a quick
sweep through the cellar to see to its security. Cali had to get Raven
tucked away before they came.
The human was still sitting there with a look of confusion on his face, so with a roll of his eyes, he walked over to him, hissed in exasperation and caught his tunic hem in his mouth to give it a tug. "Sheesh," he thought. "I have been reduced to canine tactics." Raven glanced down and said, "Hey! Easy on the tunic!" Still the human sat. Feline ears twitched as he picked up the sound of approaching boots in the hallway above. He knew they were out of time, and this human didn't seem to understand. As he glanced back toward the stairs, he caught sight of Raven's cork screw sitting on the shelf of the winerack. In a flick of a whisker he grabbed the corkscrew and took off toward the back of the cellar, Raven in hot pursuit. "Come back here with that you!" Stopping in his tracks as he entered the darkness of the rear of the cellar, he quickly retrieved the lantern and returned to the place he had last seen the cat. "Where are you, you furry thief?!" He said, fighting to keep his voice at a whisper.
Cali made sure Raven
saw him go behind the rack of kegs, and when he was sure he was still
following, he stopped
in front of a place on the back wall. Stretching as far as he could on
his back feet, Cali felt the wall with his front feet, finding a hidden
panel and hearing the wall move with a satisfying scrape just as the doorway
to the cellar creaked open from above. Raven's head snapped in the direction
of the doorway as the sound of footsteps echoed down the cellar stairway.
Man and Cat quickly ducked into the hidden room, as the wall slid shut
hiding them from view. Cali sauntered over to a small table and hopped
up on the "keg chair", gently laying the corkscrew down on the table top.
They were obviously in Murt's secret room. Raven looked at Cali and shook
his head. "Well...you never cease to amaze me cat. Too bad ye can't talk."
Cali jumped down from the chair and walked over to a small shelf, picking
up a small bowl in his teeth and returning to his seat. He dropped the
bowl on the table as Raven reached for the corkscrew, nudging it in the
direction of Raven. A soft chuckle escaped the human as he settled across
the table from Cali. As soon as the cork was free of the bottle, he poured
Cali a generous serving of the wine, then raised the bottle.
"Long live the freedom fighters!! he said, taking a deep pull from the bottle. A combination hiss and meow came from the feline, sounding suspiciously like...."S-s-alude!"
