Kekko Kamen

To quote the Chief Bottlewasher of the Ryohko Forever Fan Club, this show ?would be sick if it weren?t so funny.?

The premise, of sadistic perverted teachers, a brainless-but-cute-and-did-we-mention-stacked student (Takahashi Mayumi by name) who always is their victim, and her rescuing angel ? a VERY well-built woman who runs around in red boots, a red ski-mask-like headcovering with two streamers and a blue eyeplate, and nothing else ? seems like that of one of those porn anime designed for ?college guys with no lives.?

There?s one difference.

Kekko Kamen, never taking itself seriously, is a satire of the whole genre, and a hilariously funny one at that.

Sure, a lot of the humor is wildly off-color. Sure, the object of the teachers is their own sexual gratification (often achieved by stimulating the victim). Sure, her final attack involves mashing her genitals against her opponent?s face.

And my younger sister and I laughed our heads off at every episode of the OVA series.

 Characters

The normal ending song is funny; the lyrics were written by Go Nagai himself (did I mention that Kekko Kamen?s one of his brainchildren?) But the one for the ending of the fourth OVA, sung by Shinohara Emi, is roll-around-on-the-floor-laughing-until-you-get-a-stitch-in-your-side fodder.

If you can handle naked women and bawdy jokes, this is good.

Correction. This is great.

Kekko Kamen is available in the United States from AD Vision.
