The Chrono trigger GUIDE TO BOSSES Version 1.0 Yakra 600 AD- Cathedral Weaknesses&Immunities:none Suggested levels: 5 or 6,maybe 7. HeÕs a pretty easy boss. Just continuously use X-strike and flame toss. When you need healing, have Lucca use tonic. Yakara wonÕt last long. Dragon Tank 1000 AD-prison Weaknesses&Immunities:Head:Immune to fire&lightning. Grinder&tank:none Suggested levels:7, maybe 8. This is one of the bosses in the game that if you donÕt know what to do, will give you a hard time. Attack the head with powerful techs (other than Slash, flame toss and Fire whirl, as that will do 0 HP damage) until it dies. Then attack the tank and Grinder with fire whirl. The head repairs damage, and the tank and grinder can run over you. Guardian and bits 2300 AD- Arris dome Weaknesses&Immunities:Guardian: Immune to fire. Bits:none Suggested levels: 8-10 Kill the side bits first with normal attacks, then go for the Guardian. If you attack the guardian when it has both bits, itÕll do a delta attack. If thereÕs only one bit, itÕll attack with amplifire. After defeating the bits, the Guardian counts down from 5 and revives the bits. Repeat the process. Heal up with Aura whirl when needed. R series 2300 AD- Factory Weaknesses and immunities:none Suggested characters: None Suggested levels:11, maybe 12 Use cyclone on the center of a ÒcolumnÓ 2 cyclones will take out 1. If you have Lucca with you, use fire whirl. If you have Marle with you, use aura whirl when needed. TheyÕre not much of a boss. Heckran 1000 AD-Heckran Cave Weaknesses and immunities: Immunities: Anything except magic Suggested characters: Crono,Marle, Lucca. Suggested levels: 11, 12, maybe 13. As with the Dragon tank, this guy will give you a hard time if you donÕt know what youÕre doing. HereÕs what to do: Use Lightning and antipode continuously, and use Aura pode continuously, andWhirl to heal up when needed. If you are low on MP and want to conserve MP for attacking, just use Mid tonics instead. HereÕs the part to be worried about: If Heckran says ÒGo ahead! Try and attack!Ó and puts his claw in front of his face, then DONÕT ATTACK! Otherwise, He will counter with waterwave, wich visually is the equivellent of FrogÕs Water 2 spell, and has the same effect. When he puts his claw down and it says ÒBreif counterattack breakÓ then hit him like crazy with Lightning and antipode. It might take awhile, but heÕll die eventually. Zombor 600 AD- Zenan Bridge Weaknesses and immunities: Weakness: Head: Ice Legs: Fore. lightning (Any other magic will not work) Suggested Characters: Crono, Marle, Lucca Suggested Levels: 13 Once again, If you donÕt know what youÕre doing, This guy is HARD. Well, the techniqe is quite simple, actually: Use fire and lightning on the legs and ice on the head. The legs will probably die first, and when they do, have Crono and Lucca use regular attacks will Marle continues to use Ice. Also, use Aura whirl when needed. If you know spincut and Fire sword and Ice sword, use fire sword first on the legs and then Ice sword on the top. (Although I doubt youÕd even know those at this point) The bottom uses ÒDoom, Doom, DoomÓ Just before it dies, and the top uses MP buster (Completely drains MP.) Masa and Mune 600 AD- Denardo Mtns. Weaknesses and immunities: (Green Collar) Fire Suggested levels: 14 or 15 Suggested characters: Crono, Marle, and Lucca This part is easy. Just hit the Elf on the right with Fire sword (The one with the green collar) (You should know it by now) And heal with Aura whirl. TheyÕll concentrate mainly on Combo attacks. If Crono is doing aura whirl with Marle and Lucca is up, Use Napalm on the one with the green collar. After awhile, it says ÒApart, Masa and Mune are powerless.Ó Now its time for... Masamune (Fusion) 600 AD- Denardo Mtns. Weakness and immunities: Ice Suggested levels: 14 or 15 Suggested Characters: Crono, Marle, and Lucca Well, the method is easy. Use Ice sword and Napalm and Heal up with Aura whirl or Mid Tonics when needed, IMPORTANT!!!! When Masamune is charging up for Its tornado, It looks like it is breathing in, also, it notifies you. When this is happenning, USE SLASH A.S.A.P.!!!!!!!! It will Neuturalize the Tornado, but will only do about 60 HP damage to Masamune. Also, Antipode is good when Marle and Lucca are up but not Crono. However, Ice sword is the best choice, doing About 470 HP damage. Anyway, It might take awhile, but Masamune will fall after awhile, and then you can move on. Nizbel 65,000,000 BC- Reptite lair Weaknesses and Immunities: Lightning Suggested Levels: 19,20,21 (You Should Build up levels and Techs by fighting Nu in the hunting Range Many times before going here) Suggested Characters: Crono, Ayla, Marle Once again, this guy is a real lot of trouble unless you know what youÕre doing. First you should use Lightning (Or Volt bie if you know it) To lower its defense. If you donÕt, any physicial or magical attack will not do too much damage, and ItÕll take almost an HOUR to beat him!!!!! (I know this from experience) Anyway, After Shocking him you should let loose with Your most powerful techs. If you have Marle with you, Haste is a good Idea if you know it. Also, do Ice sword, Ice toss, (If you know it) and all of your other attacks. Eventually, HeÕll Discharge the lightning. When he does, Use Lightning or Volt Bite if you know it and then continue attacking him. Use aura whirl or Mid tonics to heal when needed. Just as long as you Remember to Shock him, HeÕs not too hard. Flea 600AD-MagusÕ Castle Weaknesses and immunities: None, really. Suggested Levels: 19-21 Suggested Characters: Crono, Frog, Robo. After fighting the fake Flea wich is not too hard, you fight the real Flea who happens to be the bat who follows you around. Well, the fake Flea does MP Buster just before death, so whoever got hit by the attack should be healed up with a Mid Ether or if you just so happen to have one, a full ether. Anyway, all you have to do is attack with triple raid. You should have it by now. If not, use Combos like X-Strike, Blade toss, Max cyclone (If Flea happens to be nearby Robo) swordstream, and so on. But Tripleraid is the most effective. Well, Flea may look like a Girly man, but Flea fights back like a burly man. He Can do some real bad status aliments. Like all of the enemies status attacks, they show the name of the attack along with the effect. Tripleraid does about 750 HP of damage to the sorcerer, wich is good, but you will probably rarely be able to use it, considering the fact that Flea knows sleep and chaos spells. Flea is one of the tougher bosses in the game, but HeÕll fall eventually. Slash 600AD-MagusÕ Castle Weaknesses and immunities: None, really. Suggested levels: 20-22 Suggested Characters: Crono, Frog, Robo. You COULD fight Slash before Flea, but I recommend Fighting Slash second, as a save point appears after beating Slash. Anyway, you should basically use Tripleraid and heal up with Mid Tonic when needed. He can only do small attacks that do about 50 HP damage. HeÕs pretty easy. That is, in the first part. After taking a couple thousand HP of damage, the battle window closes up. Slash grabs his blade from the wall and the battle starts again. He seems to move around faster, is stronger, and has a couple new attacks. One of wich is identicial to CronoÕs ÒSlashÓ attack. Also, he has more HP. Slash is a bit easier to beat than Flea. But, like all other bosses, heÕll fall eventually. Ozzie 600AD-MagusÕ Castle Weaknesses and immunities:Weaknesses:Falling down large holes. Immunities: Anything else. Suggested levels: Not relevent. Suggested characters: Whoever you want. If you know what youÕre doing, then Ozzie is the easiest boss in the entire game. If not, he could take a long time to beat. Just target the switches (Use the left and right buttons on the control pad) and hit them. HeÕll go down the hole eventually. Magus 600AD-MagusÕ Castle (Duh) Weaknesses and immunities: Changes Suggested levels:22-24 Suggested characters: Crono, Frog, Robo. Once again, this guy is hard if you donÕt know what youÕre doing. At first, hit him with a normal attack. That usually changes his barrier. Frog should know Heal by now. If not, youÕre in REALLY BIG TROUBLE! Using FrogÕs normal attack with the Masamune increases MagusÕ Magic defense, but you might not be able to use it much. About the barrier thing: Wchever type of spell he does, thatÕs his barrier. If he does Ice 2, its water. If he does Fire 2, its fire. If he does lightning 2, its lightning. If he does dark bomb, its shadow. (RoboÕs laser spin counts as shadow) If the barrier is a magic that none of your characters can use, then just use physicial attacks until he changes it to one you can use. After he takes about 5,000 HP of damage, he stops doing the barrier thing. this is good and bad. The good part is you can use any type of magic you want. the bad part is that he loads up the heavy artilery. Now he uses his shadow magic! At this point in the battle, keeping everyone alive and at max HP should be the first priority. Also, hereÕs something weird: It seems sometimes people in your party lose a few HP for no reason at times, and it doesnÕt show that the character is poisoned or anything. Anyway, youÕre in BIG trouble if youÕre low on HP when he does Dark matter, his strongest attack. When he stops his barrier, the only worry is Dark matter. ItÕll take a long time, but he, like all other bosses, will fall eventually. But he doesnÕt die... yet. Nizbel II 65M BC-Tyrano lair Suggested levels- 24-26 Weaknesses and immunities: Lightning Suggested characters: Any Use the same strategy as last time. (See above) The only diffrence is that his attacks are a bit stronger and he has a bit more HP.Also, his defense increases back up a bit when hit during a shock. For maximium damage, continuously shock him with Volt bite. The damage will go up every attack! However, watch out for the discharge. Azala and black Tyrano 65 M BC- Tyrano lair Weaknesses and immunities: Azala: Lightning, ice. Black Tyrano: None unless he is counting down. Suggested levels: 25-27 Suggested characters: Crono, Ayla, Marle. FIrst, have Marle cast haste on all members, one at a time, while Crono and Ayla do volt bite on Azala. Then you might want to do aura whirl. Then, use Volt bite, Ice sword, and ice toss like crazy on Azala. If BT starts counting down, ignore him and keep attacking Azala. When Azala dies, only attack BT when it says ÒRemoves def, and is storing power.Ó Then attack him like crazy with volt bite, ice sword, and ice toss. ItÕll take awhile, but BT will die eventually. Golem 12,000 BC- Zeal palace Weaknesses and immunities: None, really. Suggested levels: 25-27 Suggested characters: Crono, Frog, Robo. Just use tripleraid on the Golem like crazy and use heal when needed. If you die, you be able to move on anyway. (Although chances are youÕll die) Sir Krawlie 2300AD- Sewer acess Suggested Levels: It doesnÕt really matter... Weaknesses and immunities:None, really. Suggested characters: Any. He dies like a boss, but there is no boss music. Anyway, IÕm counting him in as a boss. Just use your most powerful techs. The only danger is KrawlieÕs all but 1 HP damage attack. HeÕll die shortly. Mud Imp & Beasts 12,000 BC- Terra cave Suggested levels: 26-28 Weaknesses&Immunities: Red: Ice, Blue: Fire, Lightning. Imp: None, really. Suggested characters: Crono, Ayla, Frog. Have Crono And Ayla use Falcon hit on all three while Frog takes the defensive with Heal when needed. If one of the party members gets a status aliment that makes theat character unable to do a dual tech, then have Ayla use kiss. If Ayla is the one with the aliment, have Crono and frog use their dual techs until the aliment wears off, then use Falcon Hit again. If the Mud imp dies first, the beasts die with him, but Its much easier to use Falcon hit. The imp might run away after the beasts die, but usually the imp doesnÕt have time to do that. Switch to volt bire, X-strike, and Spire when the beasts die.The boss shouldnÕt take too long, and after awhile, theyÕll die. Giga Gaia 12,000 BC- Mt. Woe Weakness and immunities: None, really. Suggested levels: 32-34 Suggested characters: Crono, Frog, and Ayla. As long as you know Heal, Volt bite, and Falcon hit, YouÕll be okay. Just have Crono and Ayla use Falcon Hit on the hands while Frog backs them up with heal. When the hands die, use volt bite on the head. When the hands come back, use Falcon hit, then continue with Volt bite. GG will take awhile, but wonÕt give you too much trouble. Dalton 12000 BC-Zeal palace Weaknesses and immunities: None, really. Suggested levels: 31-34 Suggested characters: Crono, Marle, Lucca. This is one of the bosses where you just HIT IT UNTIL IT STOPS MOVING. Use your strongest version of antipode and also use Luminaire. HeÕll last about 5 minutes. Golem twins 12,000 BC-Ocean Palace Weaknesses and immunities: Sleep Suggested levels: 34-37 Suggested characters: Crono, Marle, and Lucca. Have Lucca use Hypno wave like crazy while Crono and Marle use Ice sword 2. Its that simple. If the twins are still giving you a hard time, try wearing blue vests. Lavos 12,000 BC- Ocean palace Weaknesses and immunities: None Suggested levels: It doesnÕt matter Suggested Characters: Any You are supposed to die here. So die. Golem Boss 12,000 BC-Blackbird Weaknesses and immunities: Heights Suggested levels: 35-38 Suggested Characters: Ayla, Marle, and Lucca. This guy will never attack. Just use stuff like Antipode 2 and anything else you have to kill him. If you donÕt kill him fast enough, he falls and goes BOOM! and then you move on to Dalton Plus. Dalton Plus 12,000 BC- On the Epoch Weaknesses and immunities: None, really. Suggested levels- 35-38 Suggested characters: Ayla, Marle, and Lucca. As for attacks, Use the same attacks as you did for Golem boss. Marle might want to do haste to speed things up a bit. However, Dalton attacks with the opposite elemental you do. Do fire and he does water, and Vice versa. DonÕt worry about that, though. Just use Cure 2 (Wich you should know by now) When needed. Just hit him a lot and eventually he calls on Golem boss. Unfourtunatley for Dalton, GB is dead. So Dalton gets sucked into the void, and thatÕs the end of that. Magus 12,000 BC- North Cape Weaknesses and immunities: None (Horray! no barrier change!) Suggested levels: 36-38 (But I donÕt suggest fighting him on your first time through the game) Suggested Characters: Frog. If you have Frog in your party when you meet Magus on the North Cape and you decide to fight him, Frog fights him alone, wich I suggest. Why? He deserves to fight the guy alone. Actually, You DO have a choice. If you choose not to fight him, he joins you. If you do fight him, all you have to do is Leap slash his brains out and use Cure 2 when needed. If you beat him, He dies and is gone for good, and you get an Amulet. Also, If you beat the game through the bucket or Omen, You get to see Frog back to his original self, Glenn. However, I strongly suggest not fighting the first time through. Save it for your New game +. Lavos spawn 2300 AD- Death peak Weaknesses and immunmities: None, really. Suggested levels: 36-37 Suggested characters: Robo, Marle, Lucca You fight 3 of theese on death peak. Its pretty easy. Just attack the HEAD ONLY with Uzzi punch and Glacier. If anyone gets low on HP, use Cure 2. If more than one person is low on HP, then use Double cure. If Frog or Marle cannot cast it, use Cure touch or cure wave, But I prefer Double cure, especially if Robo is hit with a status aliment, because Double cure also restores status. The LS wonÕt last too long. ***IMPORTANT NOTE*** The following bosses, from this one to Lavos, are the bosses you fight in the side quests. You do not have to fight theese. You can fight them in any order you can, and any level above 35 works fine for any of theese bosses, withe exception of the ones in the Black Omen. Anyway, you can basically fight theese guys in any order. Also, if you decided to kill Magus, just use anyone else on the bosses where I recommended Magus in the party. Also, All Black Omen bosses I recommend a level of 45 or more. Anyway, I just wanted you to know. **END OF NOTE** Flea Plus 600 AD- Fort Ozzie Weaknesses and immunities: None Suggested characters: Any Just hit the guy with any tech you feel like. Super slash 600 Ad- Fort Ozzie Weaknesses and immunities: None Suggested characters: Any Just hit him a lot with powerful techs. HeÕll last about 1 minute. Great Ozzie, Super slash, AND Flea plus 600 AD- Fort Ozzie Weaknesses and immunities:None, really. Suggested characters: Crono, Marle, and Ayla NOW it gets difficult. First, Have Marle cast Hase on all members while Ayla charms the Ozzie pants, Flea vest, and Slasher 2 (If this is your first time through the game, the Slasher 2 is a MUST unless you already got the rainbow sword or something like that. the Flea ves increases M. defense, while the ozzie pants doesnÕt do much good, as it starts you out with Chaos at the beginning of the battle.) Anyway, after charming the three items and doing haste, use Falcon hit on Slash and Flea continuously, healing with cure 2 and Full tonics when needed. When Slash and Flea are gone, target Ozzie with whatever youÕve got. heÕll run off eventually. However, it ainÕt over till the fat lady sings! OzzieÕs last stand 600 AD-Fort Ozzie Weaknesses and immunities: Falling down very large holes to his gut-splattering doom Suggested characters: Any Actually, HeÕs just known as Ozzie, but this it you LAST battle with him. Just hit the switch and a hole opens under you. You fall down tho the room where you fight Ozzie, Slash, and Flea. Go bback up. You get ready to fight, but a cat does the switch hitting for you. Ozzie falls down and goes SPLAT! and thatÕs the end of that. Retinite 600 AD-Sunken desert Weaknesses and immunities: Water lowers defense but does 0 HP damage, all other magigs heal it. Suggested characters: Crono, Marle, and Frog Okay, hereÕs what you do: have Marle use Hase on all members while Frog continuously does water 2 while Crono does confuse on the top or bottom (Not the core, though) When done with that, have Marle use Ice 2 continuously while Frog and Crono use X-strike continously on the top or bottom. When needed, use double cure. It will last awhile, bit will fall eventually. Rust Tyrano (Hey, havenÕt we fought this guy before?) 600 AD- GiantÕs claw Weaknesses and immunities: None, really. Suggested characters: Crono, Ayla, Frog. Use your bests dual techs (Or 3-D attack if you have it) for the offensive. Attacks like spire, volt bite, X-strike and Bubble hit work well. Use heal or slurp kiss to heal all members when needed, of if only one needs healing, use Cure 2. Its attacks are just like last time with Black Tyrano, except stronger. You should be wearing things like Ruby armor, Red mail, Ruby vest, or red vest for protection against the torching attacks. It will take awhile, but RT will fall eventually. Yakra XIII 1000AD- Guardia castle courtroom Weaknesses and immunities: None Suggested Characters: Crono, Marle, Frog. This guy is simple. Just Arc Impulse his brains out and use double cure when needed. HeÕll die eventually. Son of Sun 2300 AD- Sun palace Weaknesses and immunities: Immune to any magic Suggested characters: Crono and two others. Make shure you have red mails, red vests, of ruby armor equipped for this battle. Use cyclone first thing. The flames around SOS will all counterattack except one. Use normal attacks on the one that does not counterattack. SOS himself will be damaged for about 215 points. Continue this, healing when needed, and SOS will die after awhile. Ar tropos XR 2300 AD-Geno Dome Weaknesses and immunities:None, really You HAVE to use Robo alone here. First use Sheild and barrier (those are items) then just mimic ArtroposÕ attacks (You should have gotten up to Area bomb by now, as Artropos knows all the techs Robo can know EXCEPT for Shock) Why? Well, Why not? Eventually Artropos will go down. Mother Brain (This one is MUCH diffrent from the one in Metroid) 2300 AD- Geno Dome Weaknesses and immunmities: None Suggested characters: Robo, Crono, Magus Just continuously use Luminaire, Uzzi punch, and Dark bomb, use heal beam when needed, and Mommy will go down after a few minutes. Mega Mutant Black Omen Weaknesses and Immunities: Immune to all magic except water. Suggested characters: Crono, Marle, Ayla. Just have Marle and Ayla use cube toss while Crono backs them up with healing items when needed, and also have him use physicial attacks if you want to. Make shure you have either sight caps, prisim helments, or vigil hats to protect against Chaotic zone. MM will go down in a few minutes. Giga Mutant Black Omen Weaknesses ant immunities: Physicial attacks donÕt work too well... Suggested characters: Crono, Marle, Magus. Just use Dark Mist (Or Dark Matter if you have it) and ice sword 2 for attacks. Use Cure 2 to heal up when needed. If you want to, have Marle cast haste on all members. It counterattacks with an attack that can absorb MP, so use Mid or full ether when needed. GM will go down eventually. Terra Mutant Black Omen Weaknesses and immunities: Same as GM, except Magic heals the bottom Suggested characters: Crono, Marle, Magus The technique is the same as GM. Use magic, although it will heal the bottom. The bottom will die shortly after the top. Lavos spawn (This oneÕs stronger than the ones you fought on Death peak) Black Omen Weaknesses and Immunities: None Suggested characters: Crono, Robo, Frog Just use Tripleraid like crazy and use Cure Wave to heal when needed. LS Will go down after awhile. Queen Zeal Black Omen Weaknesses and immunities: None Suggested characters: Crono, Frog, Ayla Zeal uses hallation, wich makes HP go to 1. After doing that, have Ayla and Frog use Frog squash and Dino Tail. After that, have Crono use a Megaelixir or lapis. When she does that again, repeat the process. QZ will go down after awhile. Mammon Machine Black Omen Weaknesses and immunities: None Suggested characters: Crono, Frog, Ayla. First off, use a megaelixir if needed. Then, Use 3-D attack like crazy. If you want to, have Frog use a regular attacks with the Masamune. It might heal Frog a tiny bit. If you need healing, use heal or Slurp kiss. Other than that, you should be continuously using 3-D attack. Its defense will go up after every attack, so when 3-D attack starts to do less than 1000 HP damage, try using magic. After doing a few attacks, try 3-D attack again. MM will go down after awhile. REALLY HUGE Queen Zeal Black Omen Weaknesses and Immunities: None Suggested characters: Crono, Frog, Ayla. Just use 3-D attack on the head and use slurp kiss when needed. If you want to, try charming the hands for a prisim Dress and a prisim helment. However, you would risk a countrattack like hallation or MP buster. If she does hallation, use a megaelixir, but DONÕT use Frog squash or Dino tail. QZ will go down after awhile. Remember when I asked you page viewers to send in your methoods for killing Lavos? These are all the methods you sent in. First, some info. First part- Outer shell Lavos imitates some of the bosses you fought before. Just use the smae characters ant method you did before. You have time to heal and change characters between bosses. The bosses are: Dragon tank, Guardian, Heckran, Masamune (Fusion), Nizbel, Magus, Azala and Black Tyrano, and finally, Giga Gaia. Then he goes to his true form, wich isnÕt too hard if you have status-protecting equipment. Well, IÕll leave the explaining of Parts 2 and 3 to the methods. Through the magic of Cut and paste, I copied down the method word-for-word. I cortrected spelling and stuff, though. Some of theese are just the last part, others the last 2, others all three parts. I also included your e-mail adresses so people can e-mail you to comment your methods. From: hquarles@mail.tds.net (Call uim ÒMogÓIn your e-mail.) Group-Crono, Frog, Robo. have Crono use confuse on the left bit. (That should kill it. If not, just have frog whap it till it's dead.) If you have Cronos turn but not Robo's, just use luminaire. If you have both, use Super volt, and have Frog leap slash the right bit. Repeat untill the main thing is dead, and then confuse the right bit. Repeat, using cure wave when needed. (But if youre real low, use frog squash then a megaelixer.) From: marcinia@warwick.net (Alex Marciniak) I've beaten the core with Crono, Frog, and Marle. Have Crono, Frog start using regular attcks on the left bit wile Marle casts haste on everyone. Then I use Luminare and Glacier on the right bit. Don't worry about the humanoid, once the right bit dies they all do. From: jro240@airmail.net (Miachel Robb) Take along Crono, Lucca, and Marle. Keep using Antipode 3 and Luminare. On the third Lavos incarnation, have chrono attack the healing bit (Crono should be equipped with the rainbow sword, and the frenzyband) From: cdominics@aol.com HERE IS WHAT I USE TO DEFEAT THE LAVOS CORE 1RST I USE AYLA'S TRIPLE KICK ON THE LEFT HAND 2ND USE DARKMATTER 3RD KEEP USING TRIPLE KICK AND CONFUSE TO DESTROY THE RIGHT HAND(REMEMBER TO HAVE LOTS OF MEGALIXERS) 4TH KEEP USING DARK MATTER,AND LUMINAIRE UNTIL ITS GONE (THE HANDS WILL COME BACK EVERY ONCE ON A WHILE REAPEAT THE PROCESS ABOVE TO DESTROY THEM) THE CORE HAS OVER 25,000 HP EXPECT A TOUGH BATTLE From: scherer@stud.uni-frankfurt.de Well, I usually go like this: (I usually take Crono, Robo, and Lucca, and Crono has the Gold Stud) The fist part (Lavos from outside): thats straight-forward: Luminaire, Shock, Flare, Luminaire, Shock, Flare, and so on. Second Part (huge Lavos): This is just the same, but Lucca uses a MegaElixir from time to time, or Heal if someone got ripped by a protective seal and then Obstacle or something like that. Last Part: Confuseand Uzzi Punch on the left Bit, then itll die. Then: Luminaire, Shock,Flare, until the middle Bit also perishes. By by, the Lavos core will shut down its defense. So lets close in for the kill: Luminaire, Shock, Flare, MegaElixir if hp and/or mp are down. (I usually have 20 or so of them, Charm on Fossil Apes, with the Charm Top equipped, does the trick.) If the Lavos Bits reappear, dont care about them until the Lavos core restores its defense, if he does, kill the Bits again. 20 Minutes for all of the Lavos parts, including the attack modes of the nine bosses, seems to be my shortest. From: Jss@snowhill.com For the last part of Lavos, I fought with a team of Crono, Magus and Ayla. Ayla's Triple Kick can finish off the left bit immediately, then Magus and Crono battle on with Luminaire and Dark Matter. Ayla stays ready to give Elixrs or destroy the left bit when it reappears. That is how I beat the big guy. From: bahamut@terrapin.umd.edu This guy says thisÕll beat him in a matter of minutes... The group: Magus Crono Ayla equip Gold Studs on them all. They can be stolen form Flyclops in the Black Omen. Part one of the battle Forms:left bit, core, right bit Magus and Crono should use thier mist powerfull magics. I prefer Luminare and Dark Matter. Ayla should heal people. If your magic is high enough the core should quickly fall. Part two forms: left bit, right bit Continue having Magus and Crono use thier Magic spells. Ayla should triple kick the left bit, then work on the right bit. Final Part Forms: right bit Use Dark Matter, Luminare, and Triple kick ASAP on the bit that's left. If active life is used ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK! Active Life lowers defence of the core. Ayla MUST triple kick the left bit for AT LEAST 2,100 hp(i think) in one hit. When the right bit falls, so will the core. If this strategy is followed correctly Lavos Core will NEVER do Time Warp. From: jbeane@mainelink.net Usually I use Crono, Marle, and Magus, all are equipped with Gold Studs. On the first part I usually just fight the same way I fought against that boss using Marle's Haste on the final tougher forms. (That's why I have Magus, he has Fire2, Ice2, and Lightning2!) Then once I go inside and I face the first part I have Marle cast Haste and healing when needed, Crono's Luminare, and Magus' Dark Matter. Then when I get to the Lavos Core I attack the left pod with Crono's Confuse and Magus' regular attack, Marle still casting Haste and healing . Then I use Crono's Luminare and Magus' Dark Matter for the Center monster which will also damage the right pod. Once he's gone then I go berzerck on the right pod using Crono's Luminare, Magus' Dark Matter, Marle's and Ice2. I use these guys because one has powerful attacks, one has powerful magic, and one has healing powers. I also use Aura Whirl and Lapis when I need to heal all party members, and then use Mega Elixer when I'm really hurting. From: ulhs@pacific.net It is better when fighting Lavos the second time to use Magus, Crono, and Frog. Make sure they are equiped with Gold Studs, Nova Armor, and Vigil Hats,(god, that's a lame name!). Before you kick off the ofense use Shields and Barriers one the entire party. Kick off the ofense by haveing Crono use Lumanaire and Magus use Dark Matter. This will kill the central bit and hurt the main bit. Have Frog use Leap Slash on the right bit to give him something to do. When the party gets low on HP and/or MP have Frog use on them the major pick me ups. When the main bit is dead, sit back and watch the fireworks. From: baddoggy@aol.com The way you beat the final part of Lavos is to attack the left Lavos Bit with ONLY physichal attacks. Then, after he dissappears, use your strongest magics (I personally like Crono, Ayla, and Robo's Twister triple tech, or Lucca and Frog's Frog Flare.) When Lavos revives the bit, repeat these attacks. My average time is about 15-25 minutes to kill him ( Phenominal amount of HP). HereÕs my method for the last part: Well, ThatÕs it!!!
