Secrets of the Magnifying Glass
The magnifying glass is one of the hardest-to-get items in the game,
but it can be very useful. It is the last item in a long series of trades
which starts at the Trendy Game.
- First, you must win the Yoshi Doll in the Trendy Game. This may take
a few tries, but it isn't TOO hard.
- Now go to the house at the northeastern part of the village (the one
to the left of the hut blocked by rocks). Give the Yoshi doll to the lady
with the baby in return for the ribbon.
- Go to the doghouse next door to Madam Meowmeow's. Give the ribbon to
the little dog in return for the canned food.
- Now go to the alligator's house down by the shore. Give him the canned
food in return for the bananas.
- The next step comes at Kanalet Castle. Go to the east of the main gate
and give the bananas to Kiki the monkey. The monkeys will build a bridge
and leave you a spare stick.
- When you find Tarin near a tree with a honeycomb on it, give him the
stick. He'll knock down the honeycomb and get chased off by bees. Take
the honeycomb.
- In the animal village, find the bear chef. Give him the honeycomb,
and he'll give you a pineapple.
- In the mountains, you'll come across Papahl. Give him the pineapple,
and he'll give you a flower.
- Go back to the animal village and find the goat. Give her the flower
and she'll give you a letter.
- Go to Mr. Write's house and deliver the letter. He'll give you a broom.
- Go back to the animal village once more and give Granny the broom.
She'll give you a fish hook.
- You'll find the fisherman by diving under a bridge. Give him the hook
and he'll catch a necklace for you.
- Seek out the mermaid and return her necklace. She'll let you have a
scale.
- Find the mermaid statue and put the scale on it. Go into the tunnel
and you'll find the magnifying glass.
The magnifying glass lets you see things that would normally be invisible.
It has two very good uses: First, it will let you find the secret of the
Egg Maze in the library. Second, if you go to a seemingly empty cave down
by the shore, you can trade the shovel for a boomerang! Hoot!
