The May Flower

A seed is born in the darkness of the earth.
Slowly and carefully, it reaches ever upward.
It finds the Light, and its leaves open
To absorb the warmth and goodness
The flower's crimson petals bask in the glory.
Its only goal is to move ever closer toward the Sun.
The roots reach down deeply to the Rock, making the flower secure.
The petals close and patiently wait throughout the storm.
Its beauty and fragrance are always with us.
