The aughisky (agh-iski) was the Irish Water-horse, very much like the "Uisgue" of the Scottish Highlands.  They were supposed to come out of the sea and Gallop along the shore or through the fields.  Anyone who could catch one and lead it away from the shore could use it as a splendid mount, if not the finest steed to be ever seen.   But, if it came within sight or sound of the sea, it would gallop wildly into the depths and tear it's rider to pieces, and devour them.  November seem the month most likely for the aughisky to be seen, and it is also said that they devoured mortal cattle.

In our Game:

The aughisky acts pretty much as the genuine article.  One should set them up as a semi intelligent version of the finest (and then some) horse in your game.  He should have a splendid attack of the best war horse and the speed of a bread race horse.

Beware, all these fine points will be used against the rider if he should foolishly get too near the ocean.

To own a aughisky one must first catch or surprise him, then make an immediate riding roll to turn him away into the land.  Three successful riding rolls at diff 9, 8, 7 are need to bring him in and break him.  He will be yours after that.

In the unfortunate event that one should be spirited off to the ocean, then you would have to also make the 3 above riding rolls to turn the aughisky back.  If the rider merely wanted to dive off the horse he would have to make a riding roll at diff 8 to have the ability to get off the wild ride.  Failing his attempt(s)  he would find himself in deep water fighting for his life.

Str 5, Dex 3, Stamina 6, Alertness 2, Perception 2
Brawl 4/or riding skill if better, Athletics 3/or as riding skill,  swimming 6 (can breath underwater), movement - better than the fastast race horse.
Health OK(x4), -1(x2), -2(x2), -5
Attack: Bite Str+2, Kick 5, Trample 6

Movement is better than the fastest horse in the realm.
