The Sharp Toothed Frog

Echo, a satyr; and Valeria a female eshu were paying respects to a noble for his hospitality at the end of a greening festival. A dark cloaked figure separated them and stabbed a man of wealth, removes his ring. Attempting his escape the characters blocked his exit. Backing to a wall he spoke some words and disappeared through it. Before the portal closed Echo and Valeria, barely squeezed through. Finding themselves on a silver path they pursued the figure relentlessly through the dreaming. After an extended chase the villain turned and placing the ring on his finger prepared to attack. At the shock of seeing a magic ring being welded the heroes were taken back, but prepared for a fight. In a strange turned of events the villain simply gave up pleading for his life. Unknown to the heroes the ring had limited ability to predict a situation, as the villain used it he saw himself succumbing to a fatal blow. The wily villain bargained to give them back the ring, to resolve the peaceful solution. After giving the ring he fled for his life.

The heroes wanted to head back to return the ring to it’s owner, but without a spell to open the door from the silver path they would have to follow it to wherever it led. Traveling for a long time on the path they came upon a frog. Echo said hello to it and was not surprised at its ability to greet them back. They asked him what he was doing there and he said he was put here by an enchantress because he would not fulfill the role of her lover. So she turned him into a frog and sent him here. They also found out he knew of a way from the silver path. Asking his name they found it to be "Grrr Snarl Claw Bite Slash". What a funny name that is they remarked. Not for a lion, the frog stated, and a handsome lion indeed. Apparently the enchantress turned the lion into a virile suitor to be her lover, and then to the lowly frog as a punishment for rejecting her.

As they came to the end of the silver path they asked their last questions from the frog, as he would not be able to speak in the real world. Making their way to the Enchantress's tower they spied on it, seeing that an armed knight would leave during the day for hours at a time and coming back with food near days end. Their plan was to enter the tower and dispatch the evil enchantress. Echo kept the frog in his pocket and at the most opportune time was to hold the frog up to the enchantress's face, as eye to eye contact would break the spell and he would be returned to his original shape. Crossing a rickety bridge they look down and saw movement in the water below. Hurrying across they knocked on the door of the tower. To their dismay it was answered by a number of armed guards. Hauling them  inside they were stripped of their weapons and about to be taken to a dungeon to rot.  Along the way they passed E'ritta the enchantress,  as she took a liking to Echo's appearance and she invited them to a meal. Unknown to the hero's, the drinks contained a potion to sway any man's mind into falling in love with E'ritta. Soon Echo was thinking nothing but gazing into lovely E'ritta's eyes, while Valeria waited anxiously for him to produce the frog.  E'ritta, told Bongurd, the largest of the guards and possibly part ogre, he could have Valeria for his pleasures and feed what was left to the moat guards.

As the guard approached her she thought for sure Echo would produce the frog, and make the transformation.  Though Echo's only thoughts were how beautiful E'ritta was.  Bongurd grabbed Valeria arm and started to drag her out of the room, struggle a she might she was too weak to break his mighty grasp. Even as the door of the banquet room closed Echo seemed not to care about his friends fate. In the hall Valeria bit the hand of Bongurd and while no appreciable damage came about, it was enough to free her for a second. Her high dexterity and speed let her evade the hulking guard. Running back to the banquet room she pleaded with Echo who ignored her as he was hopelessly enamored with the enchantress. As Bongurd entered the room a merry chase ensued around the table. Infuriated the enchantress called for guards to put an abrupt end to the calamity. As they burst into the room Valeria tackled Echo knocking him over and as Bongurd grabbed her she pulled the frog from his pocket, and thrust it into E'ritta's face.

The transformation had startled everyone as the simple frog turned into an enraged lion. Bounding across to the table with fright full speed he tore the enchantress to pieces. At her horrid demise came to a bloody end the spell upon Echo along with all of her guards was broken, and all left quietly as the lion feasted on the remains of E'ritta.
