Enchantment

The alluring image of a lovely nymph haunts the heart of a noble knight, soon finds himself lost to her enchantment:

How doth you visage haunt my waking dreams,

to which I find no escape;

Though glimpse of thee I did,

yielded such sweet delyces.

And bifor I knew my hertes longing urge,

twas lost in your sight;

Fair damsels pale next to thee,

as lingering thoughts bring sheer delyces.

Yet vouchen not my feeling rare,

undigne times ten I am of thee;

Dare I not looke up for feare

by chance, your gaze would befall me.

And eye would meet, and plesaunce play,

so lost to thine sweet flour;

Forever then would I be yours,

mixed the lingering of desires.

Let my derne stay with thee,

and no one else;

Holding the thoughts of Love-drury rare,

pledge unto, till heven and worldes doth ende,
