 This piece written in pros is a unique story, as the main characters never actually meet, nor talk; in fact it all takes place in a few seconds midst the thoughts of a young prince.

During his travels afar, out tale takes place as Prince Elan is about to enter a lush glen, but upon seeing a figure draws back. The figure is that of a beautiful wood nymph, and spying her hidden audience performs a flirtatious dance to win his favor. The poem is but his thoughts and desires, as he is enchanted by the lovely visage.

     I have moved thru vales of the eve,

riding leagues past the last guard;

     On through forest and glen, mountain and hill,

To find my hearts end.

     The phantom of my dreams.

     She moved with the grace of a doe in flight,

comparing to both flora and fauna rare;

     And the radiance of her smile, on rose stained lips,

would tame the beasts of the wild.

    The trembling with in my soul.

     Our gaze was held a time and time again,

as if a knowing voice cry out;

     "I cull thee from long days past",

till we meet, intertwined apart.

   Midst unspoken gage, so well known.

     I dote on thee from times forgot,

to wake at night and find thee not;

     I would trade up my wealth, my land my right as heir,

for a mere moment with thee.

    Come kiss me sweet and twenty.

     Ride with me on Neither Winds,

to Cavendale Church at Branberry laund;

     to bind and wed on unfolding star,

attested by the grace of God.

     Sealed with the greatest gift of my love.
