Chapter 6: Rescue

Ristar wasn't having a very difficult time doing her part. She was extremely bored and growing slightly impatient. Mr. Weis droned on and on about his boring life, pausing only to take in a bite of food. She was able to slip a pinch of Moran's powder into Weis' drink while he wasn't looking.
When they left the restaurant and started to walk back to the tent, Mr. Weis said he was suddenly feeling tired. Luckily Mr. Weis became unconscious while they were passing an empty alley. Ristar quickly made sure that no one was watching her before she drug Weis' body into the alley and hid it behind some boxes. She searched his coat and round the ring of keys that she was looking for. She hastily slid the keys into a hidden pocket under her armor.
Ristar quietly left the alley and made sure that no one had seen her leaving the alley. She rushed through the maze of streets, trying to find her way back to the tent.

Moran was the first one to see Ristar as she came back. Moran gladly took back her pouch of powder along with a ring of key. Moran slid into the shadows of the tent as Ristar took her place outside. They had to help the creatures escape before the guards came back to take over for the night.
Moran entered the tent and quietly ran to the dryad's cage. She bent down to the lock and started to try keys to see which one would unlock the cage. The lock opened after a few keys. Moran helped the dryad out and closed and locked the cage. She wrapped the dryad in a spare cloak to hide her appearance.
Before Moran could leave the tent, she unlocked the cages of the other creatures, locking the cages after they were out. Moran led all the creatures out of the tent and into the shadows of the street, freeing them. All the creatures promptly left the city and made their way to the foreign homes.
Moran helped the dryad over to Ristar and put the keys in the podium. Ristar took the dryad and hid in the shadows across the street.
Soon the soldiers came back to take over the night watch and allow Moran and the others to get some sleep. Moran thanked the soldiers and told them that everything had gone smoothly during their watch. They then left the street.
Ristar and Fireoak met up with them in an alley just out of sight of the tent. The group calmly proceeded to the main gate of the city, which was guarded, but open.
The guards warned them to be careful because there were monsters that lurked in the forests at night. Moran reassured the guard that they were well armed and capable of defending themselves.
The group left the walled city and followed the road they had arrived on to the crossroads. They looked for the trail they had followed through the forest when they were tracking down the men who had taken the dryad.
Because of the growing darkness, Moran took out a torch and fumbled with her flint and steel until she got the torch lit. Moran held the torch high to aid the others in their search.
In the dim light, Ristar found the correct trail. The group hurried on with Moran leading and Ristar guarded the rear. Ivy walked in the middle and helped Fireoak along. In a matter of minutes they came upon the glade in which Mina, the nymph, lived.
Fireoak stirred a little when they got nearer to her tree. Mina appeared and greeted them when they entered. Ivy set Fireoak down by her tree and let Fireoak rest.
Mina thanked them heartily for rescuing her sister. They told her that they would warn the local men about them so that they wouldn't be bothered. They also decided to take back the bodies of the men so that the men's families could bury them.
With the whispered words of spells cast by Carina and Lashana, the bodies rose and floated after the group as they wearily walked back towards Dew. They trekked through the forest with Moran and her torch in the lead and the bodies floating behind them.
When they finally reached the town they left the bodies in stasis spells at the garrison and went into the inn to get some sleep.
