Greetings! I am Talus, the Guide to the Tabletop RPG Community here at Fortunecity. As a Guide, my job is to help make sure your stay here is as interesting and worthwhile as possible. Part of my duties include helping new webmasters get their web pages up and running and to get them plugged into one of our communities, so if you have any questions, please feel free to ask me. I will try to get back to you right away, but I do have a wife, two kids and a day job, so I am also providing some help links below that you may want to try first.

It should be noted that the marketing department here at FC really wants me to change that title at the top of the page to "Content Guide" I can only assume that is because the marketing department is largely ignorant of net culture and does not understand that a "Content Guide" is a list of regulations of what content cannot be displayed on a web page. (Nor do they seem to understand how offensive it is to be reduced to such a function.)
Either way, that is not what I am about.
I am a guide of people NOT "content". I volunteer my time to help new citizens establish their web sites and get plugged into a community of like minded individuals--NOT to guide content, whatever the marketing department may say. (Bear in mind these are the same sort of people who reduce individuals to mere "consumers".)
The title for this position used to be "Minister" but some overpaid boneheads in marketing decided to change it to "Content Guide" (without telling anyone) because it "sounded religious". Never mind the fact that many countries have a Ministry of Culture or a Ministery of the Interior (obviously the decision was made by Americans with little knowledge of the etymology of words.) I don't know what their attitudes are towards religion in general, but obviously they don't want anything to do with it.
The only good thing to come from this fiasco is that the marketing people are starting to listen to the guides. They still won't explain why this stupid title seems to be written in stone and cannot be changed though. My personal theory is that the obstinacy of an idea holder is directly proportional to the stupidity of the idea. I'll have to ask Dilbert about that one.
I may be the last individual of what once was a grand experiement in net democracy, but I'm too stubborn to leave. If you would like to help me rebuild that vision from these cold ashes, let me know. Perhaps, together, we can retake FortuneCity and again make it a city--
"FOR THE PEOPLE"!
