Nyna/Kelly/Hap Rescue
Lia
Lia drove.... She drove in her fiero, pulling the trailer to her secret
place... a Cabin behind a waterfall somewhere near Caemlyn, where she was
born, supposedly anyway.. waiting for mom or someone to contact her on the
cell phone and say where they were all going.... Lissette looked over at
her, as they were unloading the things, not much was needed here, it was kept
well stocked... " Lia, what is it..? "
Lia looked up from her box of angreals... "Lissette, you know me too well,
Wait.. somone's here... "
Sonja burst through the door.. "Lia.. Lia.... I taut you'd be here... Nice
cobwebs, anyway.... Haplo was his name, he's been taken prisoner with the
rest of them... and those two crazy warders have busted out after Him... with
the gholam.. This is nae good, nae good at all... "
Lia nodded, " Lissette, suit up... Sonja.... Get the bikes ready... He
may not be mine, but that mix is sure to cause trouble...... " The two
girls left on their errands, Lia sat and stared at the single rune on her left
hand.... So strange, but it was beautiful all the same, made her think of
Hap.... " There must be something.. his runes protect him from the power-
based telepathy.... But..." Lia looked at her headset.... "{ Hap and
Sredny both have these.... I can communicate with them... "
Tuning it to Sredny's frequency she laughed.. Gholam.. if you can hear me...
you bet Jen and Liagala will be tailing you.... and I'm on my way...
She turned it on Hap's frequency alone... " Haplo.. Can you hear me..
Haplo... " She waited for a response, and was still waiting when the three
of them, Lia on her silver Ninja, Sonja on her Purple EX-500, and Lissette on
her black Ninja, all tore down the freeway.... Armed and dangerous, and ready
to end a war that hadn't yet started....

Kat
So I'll be damned if I'm going to let him rot in a cell. The other
two, whom I don't know all that well, are part of this Tower, and as
such don't deserve to be in cells either. So, again, I'm going. Make
your decisions whether you want to follow me.
Kat chuckled. "Well, Jen and Lia are gonna kill the two of you, but if
Larissa even notices I'm gone, she'll approve. Hap's got two sisters, ya
know." She gave them a dangerous look. "But I know your style, and we'd
better at least START this carefully. If we get wounded--and not
killed--before we rescue anyone, we'll end up chained to the wall with
Reds beating on us." Davidson and Eddie glanced at her in annoyance, and
Sredny had one of his looks on his face. Kat rolled her eyes. "Yeah,
whatever. And do any of you have an extra gun?"

Nyna
Nyna didn't like jail one bit. Not even the silence. In fact, the silence
is what was driving her nuts. Ever since the Red scum told her she was accused
of treason, the only person she saw was an old guy bringing her food
everyday.. and there he was again.. Nyna snorted. Mush... more sickly
greenish... mush! This ain't no food!!!! Ehh... Poking a fork into the ...
mush... she sighed. Are they going to hold me here forever???? As if in answer
to her question, a guard appeared. Feeling tight holds of Air around her, Nyna
shuddered. What now?? The guard opened the door.
"Move it!" The guard's face was straight and solid as a stone..
Without hsitating one second, Nyna probed into the woman's mind...
Transferring out... ...too much mob violence here... ...have to move
ALL the prisoners to another place... .. somewhere where they won't befound..
Nyna clenched her teeth together and followed the woman out into the
rain....

Eddie
The speeds were phenomenal. Eddie wasn't aware that cars could go this fast,
but Dav seemed to have everything under control. After having stopped and
waited for Liagala to catch up, they had once again set out for the Tower.
Liagala hadn't deigned to talk to him, and Eddie knew he was in for some hell.
First, he had kept it a secret about their rescue attempt, then they had snuck
off behind her back after she did find out. He just didn't want death to get
a look at her. But, he couldn't be there at all times. He knew this, but he
didn't like the idea of her being in danger in any way. He wasn't sure what
he would do if something happened to her. He didn't want to think about it.
But, he also knew that once she made up her mind, there was nothing he could
do to stop her. Sighing, he tried to ignore the pure fury coming through the
Bond. As they were driving, Dav and Eddie tried to come up with some sort of
plan. Sredny, Kat, and Liagala were in the backseat. "So, what's the plan?"
Dav asked.
"Well, since we don't know where they are in the Tower," Eddie replied, "or
even if they ARE in the Tower, we're gonna have to do this quietly. We can't
just slam in like thugs. We're gonna have to be sneaky."
"Agreed. But, how are we gonna sneak around the White Tower when not only
are they on the alert, but some of us," and he spared a quick glance into the
backseat,"probably don't know how to sneak too well. This would have been SO
much simpler if it had been just the two of us."
Leaning forward, Liagala's voice was ice. "Well, Davidson. LAST time you
two went alone, my Warder came back looking like shit. Seems to me that you
need someone along to keep you out of trouble. And, as for how we're gonna
sneak, I know the Tower. I can guide us. Now, keep your eyes on the road,
and maybe we can go through only one car this time." And she leaned back in
the seat. Wincing, knowing her tone was for him, and not Dav, Eddie tried to
concentrate on coming up with a plan. One consideration included hoping that
his "wound" didn't act up. If that happened in the middle of a fight, he was
a goner. And possibly others.
Sredny leaned forward. "Um, if it will help, I can hack into the computer
system. They will no doubt be looking for me, and so soon after my last jaunt
it will be rough, but their security systems will be fairly easy to hackinto."
Nodding his assent, Eddie went back to planning. He was still planning
when they pulled to the side of the road a mile from the Tower grounds.
Getting out, Eddie held the door for Liagala. She didn't even look at him.
Cursing silently, Eddie grabbed her arm. "Look, I know you're pissed as hell
at me, but we NEED to be in concert for this. If we aren't acting together,
we don't stand a chance. I'm sorry I tried to keep you out of this, but I was
so worried that you would be hurt. My pain I can handle, but yours is
impossible. Last time I almost went crazy [in a story yet to be told ;)]."
Sighing, she didn't meet his eyes for a few minutes. When she finally did,
Eddie thought he was going to lose himself in them. There was such pain mixed
with compassion.
"Eddie," she began, putting her hand on his cheek, "I know that you only
did it for my benefit, but I can't forget it. I know I should, but you're
treating me like I have no sense or intelligence. You don't mean it that way,
but that's what it is."
Eddie knew she was right, and he felt all the smaller for it. "I know, Li.
I know. But I can't help it. I really can't. I know you are more than
suitable for this, but the very idea of-"
"I know, I know, 'me in danger'. Well, Eddie, you can't shelter me 24/7.
Eventually we all have to go out into this big, bad world. I need you to be
walking beside me, not in front of me. That's what I signed on for when I
bonded you, and that's what I need. I don't need a nanny or a nursemaid. I
need a friend, and a guardian. Someone to keep me from harm, not keep me from
seeing it. Okay?"
"Aye. I'll try, Li."
Smiling, she answered, "That's all I need, Eddie. Someone to always try.
Now, let's go free our friends so we can get back to building a new Tower."
Smiling back, Eddie held her hand and kissed her. He had never done it
before, but he needed to. Surprise lit her eyes, then they closed.
Pulling back, Eddie smiled down on her. "I should have done that long ago,
Li. I shouldn't have waited."
She didn't answer at first. Then, she said, "You're right, Eddie, you
should have done that long ago. I should have as well." With that, she moved
back in.
A clearing throat brought them both out of their embrace. Looking around,
they remembered what they were supposed to be doing.
Dav was standing there smiling, "I'm as much a fan of romance as the next
guy, but we do have a job to do. Let's go, you two."
Blushing, Eddie nodded. "Right, Dav. All right, people let's go. Li is
our guide when we get to the Tower, so we protect her at all costs. She is
the only one who is NOT expendable."
Eddie looked at Li and shrugged. He couldn't protect her by hiding her, he
knew, but that didn't mean he wasn't gonna do everything he could.
They moved as one into the woods. Eddie with one hand on the hilt of his
sword and the other firmly in Li's.

Haplo
Marit motioned for the women to fall back, to give her a little time with
Haplo. "I've missed you, my love, it seems forever has passed since you left
me for life with the mensch." Her lip curled as she spit out the last word,
showing her distaste for them. Haplo's voice was barely louder than a
whisper, "Damn ya, ya helped them capture me, seems like ya get along pretty
well with them. So what are ya gonna do now...Xar is dead, can't take me back
ta ya husband, bitch." Marit gave him a knowing smile, fingering the scarred
rune on her forehead, "Yes, you freed me from him, my love, and now I have
come to take you home, take you back to where you belong. I can heal you,
darling, and after I do, we can rid ourselves of these meddling mensch. We
are gods and it is time we showed them their place." Her eyes were afire,
Haplo guessed insanity, so he decided to play along with her. "How can I trust
ya again, I loved ya once, I already bear the scar from last time, how can I
find it in my heart ta love once again?" "I can't tell you in words, but i
can share them with you," she said as she took his hands in her own and leaned
over, kissing himfull on the mouth. Their runes flashed on and off as she
healed his broken body, reading his thoughts as she read his. His heartrune
grew back over the area of his heart filling him with new strength. Suddenly,
she drew away from him, "Who's Lia......"
Haplo gave Marit a blank look, "Who's Lia? I don't know any Lia." "You lie,
Haplo, I know you, you've attached yourself to another mensch," she hissed at
him, grabbing him by the throat and hauling him to his feet. Choking and
unable to break her hold, "Ah, Marit, darlin, sweetheart, ya killin me here,
ya know there ain't no one else in the world for me, now, please, put me
down." "Oh, I'll put you down allright," she said as she threw him against
the door, breaking the cheap wooden door. He fell down on his ass, shaking
his head clear, "Damn me, really ought ta think bout becomin a celibate, it's
gett...." He was gripped violently by the throat again by a man at least 7
feet tall and hauled into the air. "My my, ain't ya a big one, what've they
been feedin ya, kid?" The man's face broke into a grotesque grin, displaying
broken teeth, when a tattooed hand grabbed him by the shoulder and turned him
around, dropping Haplo. Marit threw a punch at the guard, who in turn
launched himself at her. Haplo dragged himself to his feet as the fight
ensued, reaching into the guard's coat, which lay on the back of the chair.
Pulling out a pistol, he thought it was a Glock, he grabbed a couple of clips
and started down the hallway, "Ah, Marit, darlin, I'm afraid I must dash, but
have fun with Ape Boy over there...TTFN, ta ta for now." He allowed himself
one cackle as he ran down the hall. He stopped next to an open door,
listening to the Aes Sedai talk, they sounded like they were discussing the
prisoners, himself, Kelly, and Nyna. They were somewhere in the Tower, about
to be moved, though. He figured that while he was there he ought to do
something about their situation as well. He was thrown in front of the
doorway as Marit cast an explosive runic spell behind him. He tried to tuck
into a roll as he fell, but he was unsuccessful as he landed on his back.
"I'm gettin too damn old for this," he said to himself as he pulled out the
gun and fired a few shots down the hallway. Alarms sounded as he got to his
feet and started running for the nearest exit, Marit stalled by some angry Aes
Sedai....

Eddie
As they were walking through the woods towards the Tower, they heard an
alarm claxon pierce the night. "Shit," Eddie growled. "Let's go. Liagala
stay close." He went on over her muttering. "Dav, you and I are on point.
Sredny, you and Kat have rear guard. Look," he said, turning on Liagala, "if
you are in the middle, then you can have time to react to anything that
happens to come along. I've accepted the fact that I can't keep you out of
harms way all the time, but you have to trust me to do do the tactics. Okay?"
Without waiting for an answer, he and Dav moved forward. Hoping she would
follow him after he had lost his temper, Eddie drew his matched heron mark
swords and started walking. He was aware of Dav and his fire wrought sword
next to him. He heard guns being cocked at the rear, and he could feel
Liagala readying herself.
Entering the clearing around the fence, they walked into hell. There were
guards everywhere. Somewhere they heard gunfire and screaming. In the
parking lot, a van was peeling out quickly and accelerating to breakneck
speeds. (That's Nyna and Kelly being moved) Deciding they needed to fan out
and strike hard, Eddie charged, followed by Dav. They met disorganized
resistance, and he and Dav were able to slice through their defenses easily.
They made there way to the nearest doorway they could find, and it just
happened to be the one that a group of Aes Sedai were coming out.
Swearing (Yeah, I know, I have a potty mouth) Eddie skidded onto one knee
and spun. His sword took off the head of the first Aes Sedai out, a Red, and
sprayed blood on the others. While they were still in mute shock, Dav came in
hard behind Eddie, taking out his own. Eddie went into a roll as Fire lanced
over him from Liagala. Sredny and Kat were there, covering the rear where
guards had tried to encroach. Yelling, Eddie told Dav, "We need to get in
quickly, Dav, but NO balefire. I mean it. That shit is forbidden. Hear me?"
Hoping Dav would listen, Eddie charged into the midst of the four remaining
AS. He knocked one out with the hilt of his sword, and impaled another while
Dav handled another. The one Liagala had hit finally went down, still
screaming. The last one turned and fled, only to be caught in the back with a
throwing dagger. Turning, Eddie saw a smug smile on Liagala's face.
Shaking his head, he ran into the building, followed by the rest. He
checked through the Bond to make sure Li was okay, found she was, and went on.
They met no more resistance for a while, and rounded a corner to find Haplo
making his way out, gun in hand, looking ragged as hell. "Hap!" Eddie
called. "Good to see you!" Kat came up and threw her arms around him.
"Come on," Hap growled. "Marit's right behind me, an' I don't feel like
being in her not too gentle clutches again. It's good to see ya though,
darlin'. Now, let's get outta here."
Shaking his head, Eddie gathered the rag tag group and started them moving,
Haplo now in the lead, and he and Dav picking up the rear. He stumbled as
Liagala stopped dead. "Wait a minute," she cried, stopping everybody else.
"What about Kelly and Nyna."
"We don't have time, Li," Eddie said. "Our strength was going to be
stealth, and now that's blown. We're gonna have to come back for them later.
I'm sorry, but we will get massacred if we stay."
"Don't matter anyway, darlin'," Hap put in. "They moved'em. I don't know
where, but they were talking about it right before I made my way out."
Eddie tried to get her moving again, and finally succeeded. They were all
moving at top speed when they came to the last corridor out. They could see
the door in the distance, and had just started in when lights suddenly blazedon.
Standing in the hall were about 200 hundred guards, all armed to the teeth,
as well as 50 Sisters. When his ring went cold, Eddie knew they were
channeling. There was another woman in the hall who was covered in tattoos
like Hap was and he heard Hap mutter something that sounded like "Marit", but
he wasn't sure.
"Going somewhere?" asked one of the Sisters, wrapped head to toe in red.
"You didn't honestly think we'd let you out did you? You have killed enough
people for one night, Darkfriends."
Eddie surreptitiously looked a question at Li, and saw the barely
perceptable shake of her head. He looked to Dav who also shook his head and
mouthed the word "Shielded". Cursing, Eddie stepped forward. "Well, you
illegally held one of our members. What did you think we would do?"
He felt a burning across his face and stifled a cry. "Illegally?" scoffed
the sister. "Since when is it illegal to imprison Darkfriends? And you two,"
she pointed at Eddie and Dav, "have even more to answer for for your earlier
massacre. But I think tonight's will be enough to convince the city that you
are without a doubt Darkfriends."
Understanding dawned on Eddie. "You planned this? You let those people be
killed so we would look guilty? That's reprehensible!"
Smiling smugly, the sister returned, "They made a sacrifice for a worthy
cause,. Darkfriend. Take them!" she cried to the guards.
Feeling Dav tense, Eddie put his hand on his arm and shook his head. It
was better to bide their time. Unfortunately, Hap didn't share that opinion.
Screaming a wordless bellow, Hap dived into the group around him. Cursing,
Eddie yelled, "Screw it, Dav! Let's beat the fuckers!" (Sorry if this
offends) With a quick smile to Li, he pulled his swords and went for the
nearest guards, vaguely aware that the others were bursting into action. He
quickly laid his ring on both Dav and Li, freeing them from their shields, and
hoped they could then manage to keep themselves that way. Deciding it was all
or nothing, he yelled, "Dav! Balefire away!" and turned to covering Li.
Then he realized that they were sitting ducks in the middle, just waiting
for the Aes Sedai to blow them out of the water. He charged...straight at the
Aes Sedai. He felt their weaves dissolving against the power of his ring, and
silently thanked Quilan for it. He entered their group like Death. His
swords were blurs as they danced death in their midst. He wasn't aware of the
numbers that he killed, he just kept moving through in an inexorable dance.
He felt Li in his head, firing away with the Power. He felt a faint pain from
her, and stopped. This moment of hesitation as he figured out it was only a
scratch, cost him. He felt a blinding pain in his ribs, and saw that not all
the Aes Sedai relied solely on their channeling ability. One of them had a
dagger stuck up to the hilt in his side. Cursing, thinking Not AGAIN, Eddie
struck off the offending hand, and then head. He swallowed the pain, and
continued his dance. He was vaguely aware of the others around him, and of
gunfire, and screaming. This room was death.
Finally, there were no more sisters, and the guards were running, in full
retreat. The room was covered in blood, and the only ones standing were his
five friends. All were bleeding, and all were a wreck, but they were all on
their feet. Sredny was fine, as he was a gholam, and Kat was a little worn
around the edges, but miraculously she had few actual hurts. Dav was standing
there, panting, still holding his fire wrought sword. Haplo was in the worst
condition, having been a prisoner and then fighting his heart out. When Eddie
crouched over him, though, he waved him away. Li was hurt, and Eddie felt
sick to his stomach, but she was standing, and he could tell that no matter
how bad he thought it was, it wasn't that bad. He let her Heal the others
before they left, but didn't want her to waste her time on him. They needed
to get out of here, and then she could Heal to her hearts content.
They were making their way across to the door when Eddie heard in his head,
"Watch out! They're going for her!" Not wasting time to wonder about the
voice, Eddie spun and saw the guard with his gun trained on Li. Yelling, he
dived between them. He felt the leaden impact of a bullet, then his vision
was streaked by a bar of liquid fire. Blinking, Eddie found himself on the
floor, his head cradled in Li's lap. "Okay," he said weakly, "I guess you can
Heal me now. But hurry, we need to get out of here." He felt a jolt as the
weaves flowed through him, then an enormous hunger. He struggled to his feet,
and they continued on their way.
Outside, miraculously, there was no one. "I guess they exhausted there
garrison going against us," chuckled Dav.
"Whatever the reason, let's get the frig out of here." Eddie replied.
Limping, they made there way back to the car. "I think they must have had
most of there people around the Purple Tower," put in Li. "That would explain
the lack of major opposition."
"Good point. Well, once the powers that be hear of this, they are going to
be pissed. We killed a good 50 sisters, and who knows how many guards.
They're gonna be out for all our heads, and they still have Nyna and Kelly.
We're gonna have to get them out SOON. Haplo, did they mention where they
were taking them?"
Grunting, Haplo thought. "Just something about them liking fish.
And...wait a sec, the Stone! They said something about the Stone."
Grumbling, Eddie swore. "Great. Tear. As if we didn't have enough
trouble. Now they're in the Stone. Dammit. Well, let's rendezvous with the
rest of the Tower, then we'll figure out what to do. We can be reasonably
sure they won't kill them for now, not when they want us so badly. They'll
try to trap us in Tear. We'll just have to break that trap. Let's go. Dav,
I assume you can find Jen?" At Dav's nod, Eddie sighed. "Good, let's go
home. I'm incredibly tired."
Because of the extra passenger, Eddie was able to sit in the front with Li,
and he settled his head against her, and went to sleep.

Haplo
Haplo sat in the corner, clasped his hands together and formed a healing
circle, finishing what Marit had begun. He had seen her with all the Aes
Sedai, but he never found her during the fray. He wondered where she was, it
wouldn't do to have her running around, forever talking him, always in fear of
what she would do, after all, she was a Patryn, revenge was their business.
Forgetting that for the moment, Haplo put his mind to the task at hand. They
crammed themselves in the car, himself sitting in the back with Kat and
Sredny, Haplo nearly took up half the back seat, his large form not designed
for small cars. He figured he would lead a small group back to get the girls,
as he was the only one who could handle Marit among them. He sat back against
the seat, glad to be out of the hole he had dug himself into, but he wasn't
successful in what he had planned to do...kill the members of the Red Ajah.
That was the only thing that forced him to stay in focus, it didn't allow him
to sink into amorality. He just missed the dog, he missed his soul....

Sredny
Sredny grinned as they soared through the night, rain splattering faster
than the windshield wipers could clear off, lightning flashing all around. He
listened to Eddie laying out the plan and offered his services at Security
hacking. Grinning at Kat's question he pulled out a Smith & Wesson and tossed
it to her, along with some ammunition. As they began to approach the security
perimeter, he pulled out a little device and stuck it on the roof of the car,
getting soaked in the process. "Hey Gholam, what was that?"
"The name is Sredny. I do wish you all would remeber that. Do I yell,
hey human at you? And it's a stealth device, it'll keep the security systems
from noticing both the car, and the shadowspawn within it."
He leaned back, smoking his cig, rolling his eyes at the mushy scene
ensuing between Eddie and Liagala. When they were quite through gazing, he
pulled out some breath mints and offered them to Eddie. "Mentos?" Eddie stared
at him, and the itching spots on his back implied that she was too. Grinning
more, he danced over to a terminal and began to let his fingers fly across it.
Within moments he had access, and began shutting down sytems and cameras. He
turned back, smiling. "We are now invisible."
They took a few more steps when the alarm went off. Several eyes
turned to look at him. Sredny thought for a moment, eyes roving, then suddenly
gazed the broken tripwire. He pointed. "I can't do anything about the physical
ones. Perhaps if you all hadn't been holding hands and staring more at each
other than the ground?" They both gave him long hard stares., then Eddie
cursed and ordered everyone to take positions. Sredny filed into rear gaurd as
asked, drawing the two dragon marked guns. They began to run through the
woods, and eventually met guards. They weren't that good, no warders here, and
Sredny stopped to grab a few wallets as they continued. Kat frowned at him.
"Ghul if I'm going to pay for the bullets these losers cost me. They
ain't worth em." Soon however the guards, while delinquent, were coming in
force. Sredny's guns began to fire again and again, and there wasnt time for
corpse robbing. A few moments after that though, the guards were finished. Hap
appeared, and was greeted by all, Sredny gave a nod and a smile, and Hap
mentioned some strange Marit person. They all began to continue on, when
suddenly the lights flashed on, revealing guards galore ala Aes Sedai. He
listened intently to the conversation, and went cold as they tried to shield
him. He saw one Aes Sedai's face pale as she started at him. He held a finger
to his lips and flipped a dagger into her throat. No one seemed to notice,
they were all watching the events unfolding up front. Eddie finally grew sick
of it, ordered the attack, and lifted his anti-Balefire edict. Sredny grinned,
slammed the bale-bullet clips in, and began to kill. At one point he came to
point blank range to an Aes Sedai with a white Shawl.
"You know you have such a cool icy exterior but a bet inside" here his
hand flashed tearing open her midsection, revealing steaming intestines, as
she opened her mouth in a slient scream he kissed her, "Your just hot to
trot." He grabbed the dead body and began to tango, guns still held and
blazing. Step-shoot, step, step, shoot, shoot, dip&shoot, step step. . .
He laughed again. "Why there's life in you yet! Hey Hap, this is a great
party! There's women, dancing, entertaiment, but there's no food man! When the
Ghul are we gonna get some fajitas?" Laughing more he continued the dance,
Suddenly the body incenerated and the sudden flames lept up him in the
split second before he danced back. A strange woman with the tatoos Hap
possessed stared at him. "So your what they call a gholam. I've always
wondered if my powers would work against one." suddenly pain racked his body
and images flashed through his mind. A piece of balefire flashed by Marit, and
they stopped. "Well it appears so, but I suppose will just have to find out
for sure later. Goodbye Gholam." She dissapeared. Sredny shook for a moment,
body racked as cold shivered thrpough his body. It passed momentarily though,
and he shook it off. He slammed new clips into the guns and was off
After a while there were no more enimies. He holstered the weapons, and
sighed, then put on a grin. He maintained the charade till they got to the
car. After they got going he collapsed, not quite turning liquid. He wove the
flows of air around himself to keep him solid, they weren't actually directly
affecting him, just making the air stiffer, so they held. He then went to
sleep. As always it was not a pleasent experience. Nightmares racked his
sleep. But they weren't his typical kind. these weren't of past killings and
tortures but future ones.

Kat
Kat sighed and stuck Sredny's now-empty gun in one of his pockets. He
twisted bonelessly in a nightmare. Kat didn't blame him, even though he looked
to have... enjoyed... killing everyone. She shuddered. Haplo was silent next to
her, squashing her against the gholam. He looked disturbed as well... And who
in the Light is Marit? She looked at him a moment, then sighed and concentrated
on feeling herself come closer to Larissa, who was pretty freaked out by now.
Kat didn't especially look forward to her repremands, but maybe she would be
calmer if she got to Haplo first. Fat chance...
