Chicanery in Camelyn (Andor)
Vree
Vree watched with interest as Serena hacked her way through the system, ignoring
Justus as he stalked around muttering to himself. She'd always only fiddled with the
prospect of hacking into a major coorporation's network. She'd never tried it yet.
This was extremely interesting.
A flash of pain registered through their bond and Vree turned just as a crash
sounded the fall of a tree. "What the bloody hell do you think you're doing?" she
hissed, Even in the bloody city, he runs into trees, bloody wool headed...
Inspiration struck. "Ye bloody fool..." she hissed in an outlandish accent, "What in
the name of sacred-goats-milk are ye doin'?" she was rather fond of that one. Rather
original. "Ye'll get us all butchur'd like stuk' pigs, ye fool!" she finished only to
have Justus stalk away again, growling. "Blasted mutton-fed minstrels and their lamb-
shackled ideas. I should've never brought him on this bloody trip," she muttered to
herself as she headed back to the Battle Angel where Serena was still typing away.
As she approached the car, she caught the sound of soft cursing from the hacker.
Irritation radiated off her like heat from the sun.
"What?" Vree asked anxiously.
"A lot of the holes have been removed," Serena explained. "Damn. I think I can
still get in... but it may take a little while longer."
Vree nodded and moved away to give the girl some space while she worked. Vree
stared stupidly at the wall for awhile, her attention eventually wandering to where
Lia and Spiral were having some kind of discussion.
"--and what should we do then sit out here and let them make this thing they're
making..?" Lia challenged, eyes glinting with a touch of mischieviousness. Worry
radiated from her mind.
Spiral's expressionless stare, "What .....thing?" His tone didn't really seem to
imply interest.
"I don't know some big nasty laser thing." Lia responded.
Spiral turned and looked at the building, then back to Lia. He paused in thought
and then turned back toward the factory and started walking.
Lia looked up in suprise at Spiral departing, "Where the hell are you
going!?!" she whispered loudly.
"In there." Spiral continued walking.
"Alright.. fine.. you go get your perfect self killed... Have fun.."
Vree read anger and agitation in her reply.
Spiral glanced back at her once and kept walking.
Lia smiled almost sadly... "See ya later.. "
Spiral stopped and turned...."I won't be gone long," he said before continuing
toward the building.
Vree watched the scene passively, unable or unwilling to break the mood that
passed between the two. Finally, "Lia," Vree kept her voice low as she moved beside
the silver and black woman. "What does he think he's doing?" she nodded her chin
toward the departing man.
Lia shrugged, biting her lip.
"Aha...." the voice was soft, but the elation was enough to bring the two women
around. "I found it!" Serena declared in a quiet but triumphant voice.
"What do we want delt with?"
Vree threw Lia a quick smile then moved to stand behind Serena again. "What kind
of security are they running?" she asked.

Serena
"It would be better to ask what they don't have," Serena answered her.
"Ma'vron Security built some very good systems, and this one may have been the
best. I know it certainly cost enough." she skimmed the data a little. "Laser
lines at every entrance, motion detectors near all the important stuff, heat
sensors scattered over half the compound....." she froze. "DON'T CHANNEL!" she
hissed.
"What?" Vree's voice betrayed bewilderment, worry, and annoyance.
"I didn't know that'd been made to work."
"Wha-at?" the annoyance was starting to dominate.
"It doesn't have a name yet, at least not that I know about. Some wise-ass
realized that if you have ter'angreals that get cold in response to
channeling, and technology that can detect changes in temperature, you can
effectivly make a channeling sensitive alarm." she looked at the building.
"That definatly has to go......"
The screen beeped, and she looked down, then up. "Where's Spiral?" Wordlessly
they pointed. "Shit," she whispered. "He's setting things off....surprisinly
few big alarms, but a few of the smaller ones. If we're lucky, they'll decide
it's a stray dog. If we're not....at any rate, I think we might want to go in
the side entrance.......in situations like this, they'll be watching their
back and their front, but hopefully not their sides." Her fingers danced over
the keys for a second. "There, and entrance on the east side. If I take the
systems entirly offline it'll show up, but...." a few more seconds of dancing.
"Okay, there is no way we can do this really quietly, but.....If I start
making systems all over the building flicker, we can sneak in durring one of
those flickers. It's the best I can come up with......what's be really good,
and I think Zak," and here he perked up and stopped sulking over her earlier
rebuke, "can help us with. If something goes wrong with the system, Ma'vron
technicians would be here very, very quickly. I can keep them from finding out
about it, though, and the kid," he looked offended, probably because he was
older than Serena, "can make *us* look like the technicians. Our presence
inside won't be questioned then. I'd just have us go through the front door,
but I'm not sure if anyone on the welcoming commitee would realize that we're
not the real McCoy." She panted for a second, that was a long speech. "If
anyone has additions or alternatives, now is the time."

Justus
Justus opened his eyes and blinked, but it didn't go away. The world
had a reddish cast, and that didn't seem right. Justus felt around his eyes,
but there weren't any infrared glasses there. Curious he stood up from the tree
he had been leaning against in rest and looked around. The others were gone.
That should have bothered Justus, but it didn't for some reason. He walked around
for a bit, trying to clear his mind which felt strangely clouded. Then out of
nowhere, a strange shadow detatched itself from the rest. This shadow had the
same build and height as Justus, but long hair. "So, you are awake." Justus
tried to make out what he was looking at, but it remained a large, upright shadow
without form. "Who are you?" he asked. The figure laughed, "So you don't remember
me. Do you? Yes, I suppose you don't remember much of anything after the 'incident'.
How utterly amusing! I always knew you were weak and pathetic, but this is too much!"
Then the figure started laughing uncontrollably. Justus reached for Rammael, only to
find the humongous blade had been replaced by an abnormally large goose feather. "Oh
no you don't. You're in MY world now!" Justus growled in frustration "Who the HELL
are you? Am I in Tel'aron'rhiod?" The figure snickered again "No, not Tel'aron'rhiod.
You are in our mind. Who am I? You should know. I...am YOU!" The figure suddenly
took shape, and it was a mirror of himself, except for..."hey! That's....me, but..."
Justus was lost for words. The figure before him was the same height and basic shape
as himself, but had long unkempt red hair and pale skin. Most notably different was
the evil smirk directed in his direction. Justus never smirked like that. Then he
saw the blade, free of its scabbard. His opposite's blade was much like his own, but
the blade was black as night and had painful looking hooks at the hilt that dug into
the flesh of the holder's wrists. "Well, you obviously don't remember me. You will
come to know me well. My name is Heinid!"
The name sent chills through Justus. He knew that he and Heinid had met
before, just as he knew he and Vree had met before. My heinous id thought Justus
sardonically. The figure brought his black blade down to hover over Justus, and
Justus reflexively brought up his goose feather, realizing how rediculous he looked.
"You have no business here. So...BEGONE!!!" and just like that, Justus was gone,
falling endless through darkness....
Screaming, he woke up, only to be punched viciously by Vree in the diaphragm.
"You bloody fool! You'll wake the dead with those shouts. Only you would be dumb
enough to sleep in the middle of a blood battle" Justus leaped to his feet quickly
and drew Rammael as quickly as he could, relieved to be greeted by the sight of cold
steel staring back at him. He put his sword up and turned around and said "There's
something evil up here" pointing at his head". Vree just laughed at him and said "of
course there is dear. So you're finally being honest with yourself." Justus slapped
his head in frustration and said "No damnit! You don't understand! An evil being
lives in my head!" The look of amusment changed to one of disgust. "Get some rest
you light-blinded minstrel." That, of course was the last thing Justus wanted. Well,
he knew this battle would be one he had to face by himself. He also somehow knew that
Heinid was responsible for his memory loss. damnit! What happened in Four Kings!! but
no answer would come.

Lia
"Too Quiet... Time to play...."
The voice echoed softly, not a real voice, but an echo.. a faint
rememberance of what once was there. Oh a faint rememberance of what once used
to be. Lia was startled. The voice of the Robed woman spoke out in her mind,
"If they are you and you are them, they cannot be separated like they are.
Embrace your dark side, but embrace it in the name of the Light."
Lia looked at the group she was with, Spiral, who had left so suddenly
speaking his need to go inside. Serena, who said they had a back door, but
had to work so hard to get into it. Vree, who's mind might be preoccupied
with Justus, who had seemed to have lost his. Zak, a new Studè. The poor
kid was probably so confused as to what the Purple Tower was all about. Half
the Studès had come to the Tower at some point during Eddie's announcement..
Someone should remember to tell them that the Purple Tower wasn't an
assassin's guild, or a covert tower.
And Beth, Beth who was so quiet, and put her life in danger to assure that
our group had a healer. You had to respect balls like that...even if they are
attached to Self-Sacrifice.
"Not that you have any room to bitch about Self Sacrifice... Who
committed Suicide..?" she thought to herself... " You didn't even tell anyone
good bye. It's really no wonder why they all look at you that way. They
don't know the stakes now do they... No... and you can't tell them can
you..."
Lia sighed and turned to her companions, grabbing a gun from her bike,
checking to be sure it was loaded, " Okay boys and girls.. Saddle up, Lock
and Load."
"Looks like we're going In.. Spiral's gone and made a perfect diversion.
These guys will find him and won't have time to worry about anything else...
Serena.. I want a full run out of what's in there.. guardposts, guard dogs,
laser traps.. I know we can't channel, I think I can work around that once
we're inside... I want someone on Beth's back at all times, They'll try to
hit her first if they realize she's' our healer... Okay,.. I think we should
split into two groups and go in.. Three and three, with Spiral gone. I'll
head one. Vree, you head the other one... This way if one of us gets
attacked, the other still has a chance of getting at this thing. "
Lia Paused, and waited for Serena to explain, and For Vree to choose her
group.

Serena
Serena looked at the woman like she was nuts, paused, realized Lia hadn't
been paying attention, and surpressed a curse. Everybody got distracted by
Lia's plan and started to go with it......and Serena doubted it would work,
so she did the only thing she could think of. She clamed her teeth together,
pursed her lips, and whistled. The resulting sound was so high picked you
could barely hear it, but it made your eyes hurt and your ears itch, so it
stopped everyone dead.
"What was that?" Zak demanded.
"My special whistle.....don't ask how, it has something to do with the
shape of my teeth." Serena replied. "Now please, let's think things through
again. We have two options. Lia says we use Spiral's entrance as a distraction
and split into two groups. I say we use a systemwide problem. I set it up so
systems all over flicker and go erratic, and we slip in the east entrance
durring one of these. Ma'vron technicians should show up at that point, since
they fix the system, but I can rig it so they don't find out about it, and we
can take their place, with Zak disguising us to look like them. I can describe
the uniform to a T. Technician groups freqently have as many as six people, so
we shouldn't be given too much thought in all the confusion. Plus our access
to the parts of the building we want shouldn't be impeaded. Which idea sounds
better?" she waited.

Zak
Well, personally, any idea that involves sneaking and stealth, is an idea I
like. I think that we should at lest attempt Serena's plan. Actually, in a
way, we'll be following both of them at the same time. Spiral will still be a
distraction, we'll just be a little less obvious about going in. If stealth
doesn't work...then it's time for brute force. So...Serena, tell me every
detail about those Tech uniforms...I don't want to get any part of my
masterpiece wrong...

Lia
Lia looked at Serena... The voices weren't there, but she could feel
Lanfear's anger bristling, she could hear Liandryn glaring... She could hear
them both Asking why she let this girl live after questioning her...
Lia maintained her calm expression, and spoke carefully, making sure that
she evoked only the right words... "Your ideas are all well and good Serena,
but I've never been on a run with you before, in fact, I don't even know you
or Zak for that matter, but your plan seriously involves the both of you. And
the fact that you're Daddy or Fiancèe or whoever runs this place, and you just
Happen to know a way in.. And you insist on us all going in together, and you
get quite put out when I suggest that we go a different way... It just seems
a little strange to me, But I could be paranoid, I often am." Lia let her
face slip into a smile that was neither friendly nor foreboding," I don't work
hide and seek... Anyone in that building who can channel knows I'm out here
right now... I've got this groovy little beacon that just screams "Hey Lia's
out here!!" That's why I reside deep within the Auditorium walls. You just
gotta love Asbestos..
"Please keep one thing in mind Studè, Should anything happen to anyone on
this group due to the fact that you did something funny... You'll wish I
skinned you alive... "
Lia turned around, her strategic mind desperately trying to mimic some
great plan that Eddie could have concocted on the spot... " Oh Well," She
Sighed, " You Guys.. go ahead and follow Serena's Plan, I'm going to find
Spiral... "
And Lia headed off the Way Spiral had gone, wanting very badly to shove her
fist through an iron door on the way...
